Police Arrest Suspect in Daniel Pearl Case

Mohammed Hashim Qadeer, who was accused of setting up the initial meeting between Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and his kidnappers, was arrested in a bus terminal in the eastern Pakistani city of Gujranwala, officials said.

Pearl was abducted Jan. 23, 2002, in the southern city of Karachi and later beheaded.

A Karachi court has convicted four Islamic militants in the case, and two others were killed in shootouts.

2. Book on how the West uses Islamic terrorism on CSPAN-2
This weekend, Nafeez Ahmed's presentation in Washington last weekend
will be broadcast on CSPAN2. Pass it on.

Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed outlines the relationship between the West and
radical Muslim groups like the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, the Armed
Islamic Group (GIA) in Algeria, and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA)
in Serbia. Mr. Ahmed says that these groups, parts of which are now
affiliated with Al Qaeda, were used by the United States and Britain
to further Western political and economic goals.

Saturday, July 30 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, July 31 at 1:00 pm and Monday,
August 1 at 1:15 am -- C-SPAN2

The War on Truth: 9/11, Disinformation, and the Anatomy of Terrorism
by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed
