Wash. Times..How did 200,000 tons of steel disintegrate and drop in 11 seconds?
Edited on Sat Feb-27-10 05:23 PM by Twist_U_Up
A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7 at the World Trade Center.

There is also evidence of "advanced explosive nano-thermitic composite material found in the World Trade Center dust," Mr. Gage says. The group's petition at www. ae911truth.org is already on its way to members of Congress.

"Government officials will be notified that 'Misprision of Treason,' U.S. Code 18 (Sec. 2382), is a serious federal offense, which requires those with evidence of treason to act," Mr. Gage says. "The implications are enormous and may have profound impact on the forthcoming Khalid Shaikh Mohammed trial."

2. It's the Moonie Times
.. not exactly the pinnacle of engineering journalism. Or journalism in general.

Second, 1000 engineers and architects? I thought it was engineering and architectural professionals, but perhaps the Moonie Times didn't get that particular memo.

Third, the Mega-/Super-/Duper-/Nano-Therm*ite theory is a joke.

Fourth, so it appears that Richard Grifter is going to submit this to the trial of KSM? I'll look forward to that, popcorn in hand :D

3. ...
Was thinking about that today... that massive core of steel.
Why didn't even 10 stories of it remain? 100 feet?
Why did it all just, well, crumble?

Only one way it could do that.

4. Maybe the approx 500,000 tons of material falling
on the so called "massive" core had something to do with it.

500,000 tons = 1,000,000,000 pounds, yes billion pounds.

To me, at least, this is not massive given the scale of the building.

6. Thats kind of misleading Lared.
The columns were 4" thick in the sub levels and gradually became thinner as they went higher. Your posting showing them as 2" is inacurate.

You've been around here long enough and know better.

7. Actually I did not remember some were 4" thick
But thanks for the correction.

My point still stands as even if some columns were fabricated using 4" plate at the bottom, 1 billion pounds of debris falling is still going level the place.

8. However....
it's not nearly as misleading as the subject line of the OP which suggests that the WashTimes itself is asking for an investigation when what really is happening is they are merely reporting on ae911truth's efforts.

5. The Miracle of Ladder Company 6

They were scattered along what was left of the stairwell between the second and fourth floors, their pocket of safety one of the few spaces in the building that hadn’t been crushed in the collapse. As workers continue to clear the rubble, the space is actually visible. Trapped with them was a Port Authority police officer and a couple of firefighters from other units. Captain Jonas did a quick survey. As best he could tell, through the heavy smoke and dust, the stairwell above them was blocked. And they couldn’t go down either.
