I cross posted this in GD and it got locked for some reason...That offended me. And the excuse? Like how many times have I read posts from freeper land? These are taken a jokes by most people.

I don't post very often at DU, mostly read all the time to get news, but when I hear of something that I don't see around, I post something.

There sure were a lot of Tim Russert stories/posts, but I think things like this story need more debate, and I hate to see a thread break into personal misunderstandings when there is important stuff to work out. How many folks might write or call the FCC and complain about this sort of talk?

Anyhow, take care you all. We need each others help in these times we are in.

Actually this is more than a call for murder - Reagan speaks of Dice categorically. At the very least he means any antiwar activists who talk to soldiers. It bears repeating:

Deal with it. You shoot them. You call them traitors, that's what they are, and you shoot them dead. I'll pay for the bullets."

Reagan may have picked the unlikable Dice (a Christianist salesman who will do anything for attention) as a convenient target. But what he is calling for is not merely Dice's murder, but a final solution to the antiwar dissident problem - round them up and kill them.

Anyone who trivializes this as simple idiocy is enabling the prospective Nazis and thus, quite possibly, dumber than Nazis. It's analogous to how the liberal Bush apologists may want to vote him out, but legitimate and reward the regime's crimes by characterizing long-planned, premeditated aggressive war and resulting genocide as an idiot's very big accident.
