9/11: Where Barack Obama and Condi Rice Sound Alarmingly Alike

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kristen-breitweiser/911-where-barack-obama-an_b_94850.html

The transcript:

MATTHEWS: Let me give you a scene that may face you in the next year or two, where the national security adviser calls you at 3:00 in the morning and tells that you a couple of jet -- commercial jets have been hijacked. And they believe it is al Qaeda. And, as we know, al Qaeda always tries a second time. They tried for the World Trade Center after '93. They came back in '01.

They're heading for the Capitol. What do you do?

OBAMA: Well, look, I am hesitant to engage in hypotheticals like that, because...

MATTHEWS: But it has been predictable.

OBAMA: Oh, well, the--I don't think anybody predicted 9/11. And, so, we don't know what kinds of circumstances are going to come up.

Yup. That's right, Barack Obama glibly stated that he didn't "think anybody predicted 9/11."

Some thoughts:

1. Maybe Obama needs a tutorial from former Vice Chairman of the 9/11 Commission, Lee Hamilton, who just endorsed him yesterday. Heck, even Hamilton knows and has to acknowledge that 9/11 was predictable.

Not that Obama conferring with Hamilton should give any of us warm, fuzzy feelings since Lee Hamilton is largely responsible for the 9/11 Commission's Final Report being a total whitewash.

To put it mildly, as Vice Chair for the 9/11 Commission, Hamilton was not interested in transparency, he was not interested in accountability, and he was certainly not interested in telling the truth to the American public. So why is a guy like Hamilton so interested in Obama being president?

find out the "facts" that were presented, or he's creating a new meme and covering up what was disclosed.

I also must add one thing though as you brought up Rice and Obama in the same sentence. I find it also deeply disturbing that he voted to recommend her as Secretary of State in the Foreign Relations Committee. Barbara Boxer gave a fantastic presentation of how Rice was complicit in the lies that led us to war.

2. Yes. That statement is VERY alarming.
I am having trouble being hopeful for our country.

It is very depressing.

The only way I can stay not depressed is by just living right now, moment to moment. Whenever I try to project into the future, I just get bogged down. Now living from moment to moment doesn't mean ignoring what's going on, but trying to do something useful every day to make it a better world. Even if those moments include telling neighbors and friends about what is happening. Once enough people do that, it gets that info into the Collective Consciousness. Look what has happened on the opinions about the War in Iraq? From 75% for to more than 75% against.

I do not have a "horse" in this election now. I swore never to vote for Clinton again when she voted for the IWR (she's my Senator). As to Obama, I mistrust how quickly he rose and the political machine behind him. The Republicans didn't even really challenge him in the Senate race when the gave the insane Allen Keyes the nomination. Then his vote to confirm Rice really made me question him.

I have a feeling that if there isn't a clear winner when the convention comes around, Al Gore will be nominated. I am hopeful that if this is the case, and he rewins the Presidency, things will start to improve.

No matter who wins, if the wrongs and crimes that have been committed in our name, are not righted, are future will continue to be bleak, but right now, I refuse to accept that. Too many people are justifiably angry to keep status quo.

6. Wise words!
You reflect my thoughts about Clinton and Obama.

I have had to concentrate on personal matters for a while now, and, I typically do not project into the future about what will happen to the US. But, sometimes it is hard not to. GD is full of dire predictions about the economy, etc, for instance. I am much better off when I don't read that forum.

This statement:

I have a feeling that if there isn't a clear winner when the convention comes around, Al Gore will be nominated. I am hopeful that if this is the case, and he rewins the Presidency, things will start to improve.

would make me very, very happy if it came true. There is nothing I would like better than to see Gore take his rightful place as President.

Now, THAT is an image to hold onto!

Thank you!

3. What is your point?
There is a world of difference between predicting something. and something being predicable?
