5. Web archive doesn't help
The web archive contains only the starting page of one single day of the last year, not more.

2. "anymore"

Perhaps somebody got around to wondering to what extent any of it worked anyway.

Perhaps the amusement of supplying a repository for whatever trash anybody wanted to dump there eventually wore off.

:hurts:

I was personally excluded from contributing some considerable time ago but no notice nor any explanation of that ever appeared.

As the saying goes: You pay no money; you get no choice.

3. Too True and it got excised from the internet/ anti-Bush is verboten
It was a good website for people to investigate and list the anomalies that exposed the official story of 911 for the fraud it obviously is.

It got excised from the internet/
same as any truth site our wonderful bush minions report back to their masters.

truthis the ultimate enemy of conservatism.

Their NWO manipulation can only survive in a web of lies.

Truth is the most effective weapon against conservatives' lies.

that's why they hate Democrats so much.

we,
each and every one of us.
considers her/him self the only person able to judge truth from lies.

Conservatives just swallow any lie fed by their own side.

Those who think for themselvwes brought down Hitler

Those of us who think for ourselves will bring down dubya Bush "the idiot child who wants to be Hitler reincarnated."

Otherwise those years of drunkenness and crack smoking were all for naught.

4. It's sad
I was quite shocked to notice that it did not work on 07/17, and never has worked, since then.
If they planned to take the site down because, e.g., there were too few posters, they would have announced it, I think. If there were technical problems, they could publish such an information, and not merely "the service has been suspended".
It was a good site to discuss, and many new newspaper articles related to 9/11 were posted there.
My mail to the administrators had not been answered.
Do they perhaps have some bigger problems, like a lawsuit?

6. Don't know
However, it doesn't surprise me. I don't think this is a case of censorship of free speech at all, but just a case of one person letting things go. Pi911 has been managed by one person only, named Mark. He set it up with great enthusiasm, and worked on it well for a couple of weeks. Ever since then, he has done virtually nothing to improve or even maintain it, and it has been running on inertia, as far as management goes. Over a period of months, I sent him countless emails asking him to at least fix basic problems, and every now and then I would lucky to get a response saying "I'm busy, but I'll get to it." He never did. I haven't even tried contacting him about the recent shutdown, because I gave up trying to reach him long ago.

The long and the short: its closure may actually be a good thing. It would be much better if someone else could start up such a board again, and this time it could be done right, without having to be beholden to a manager who never manages. Perhaps Mark could at least allow a redirect from the old pi911 page to whatever new page would come along.

Any ideas? Anyone want to help out?

7. Maybe (he did not answer my mail either)
Hi Paul,

I'm glad to hear from you. Since you left your link on the cooperativeresearch site to 911pi unchanged after it went dead I was afraid that you perhaps would no longer work on these things.

I cannot understand Mark. If we doesn't want to pay for his site any longer, ok, but why couldn't he announce his intention to shut the site down? It would haven been nice to archive some of the interesting threads.
I hope he still has the posts archived so that he can make them accessible if someone provides web space.
The discussion was sometimes slow on 911pi.com with few posts, but nevertheless it was a very good place.
E.g. the newspaper articles posted by Batello or the infos from Jamie from YN were always worthwile.
And I know no other site where people interested in this stuff can discuss. The interest here on DU in this topics seems to have slowed down a bit, if you count the posts in the 9/11 section.

Regards
gandalf

9. Strange
It seems to work again.
Then it was simply a technical problem?
An explanation on the front page would have been nice.
