Dick Cheney to Tony Snow (then still at Fox) on March 29, 2006:

"We've never made the case, or argued the case that somehow Osama bin Laden was directly involved in 9/11. That evidence has never been forthcoming."

That's what [sic} means. You use that when you are quoting someone word for word, to indicate they made the mistake, and not the person doing the quoting.

I can't stomach reading anything Cheney or Tony Snow says, so if it's in the interview, I guess I'll miss it.

And if Cheney can somehow support that comment, he's brought technicality to an all new level. There's no question BushCo claimed we had to invade Afghanistan, capture UBL, and overthrow the Taliban because of 9-11. Whether Cheney found some technical way to avoid making the claim the UBL was in direct command of the operation, he certainly tried his best to make everyone believe it, and certainly never tried to explain that they had no real evidence of it.
