I'd love for someone to do a compilation of ALL statements about bombs demolitions that were on the news that day.

2. Don't count me among "everyone"!

I was fully expecting the towers to come down based upon the impact and fires that I saw. I tend to be a pessimist, so my hope was that I was just thinking "doom and gloom" at the time. Weakened steel with 10-30 floors of weight above it doesn't tend to last very long. Once the tops started to collapse, there was nothing below it strong enough to stop it.

Could I ask you though about your engineering and/or construction background that convinced you that the towers would collapse completely to the ground.

4. I was waiting for the collapse to halt,

it looked like the whole tower was pushed through a pencil sharpener.


As I watched building 7 collapse live on tv it looked like it fell into a hole, I thought maybe there is a subway system underneath or so.
But when you look at the nice pile it left and hear Larry on PBS...it's not hard to find a conclusion.

7. My first thought was that fire crews ...

... would not be able to save the upper floors. I expected to see rescue choppers pulling people from the roofs. wHEN THE TOWERS fell I assumed the terrorists had a backup plan to blow the buildings. There has never been a doubt in my mind that it was controlled demolition.
