American 77's black box data released
Apparently. www.911blogger.com says

"The black box data from Flight 77 has allegedly been released in response
to a Freedom of Information Act request."

Here's some numbers:

1. Un-fucking-believable!
Do you think this can be used to approximate the final approach path? Or is radar data also required? Either way, it certainly is an interesting development.

Since you seem to be following this, would you happen to know if there were any final NTSB findings entered into evidence at the trial?

Thanks,
Make7

2. I don't really know
I guess you could take where the plane ended up and then work backwards, but that's way beyond me.

I don't know whether there were any final NTSB findings at the trial, but these three items were introdcued:

P200054 Summary of Flight 77 depicting: the identity of pilots and flight attendants, seat assignments of passengers, and telephone calls from the flight

P200055 Summary from Flight 93 depicting: the identity of pilots and flight attendants, seat assignments of passengers, and telephone calls from the flight

P200056 Summary from Flight 93 depicting information contained on the flight data recorder and the recorded contents of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (Exhibit Under Seal).

The last one is the most interesting, but it's under seal. Downloading the presentations may be very difficult due to high traffic.

I think there's an FOIA request in for the radar returns, but it could take a year or two.

I can't do much of anything right now, my DSL is down and this dial-up connection is slow.

The actual audio of the UA93's CVR might clear up a few questions, but it would likely raise many more. Nevertheless, it is something I would like to see released so we can all actually listen to it.

I was asking about the NTSB because I remember reading on their website that they assisted the FBI with identification of some of the aircraft parts. Just wondering if you had run across anything like that.

There's a good chance if some kind of flight path can be recreated from AA77's FDR, somebody will have it out before too long.

Later,
Make7
