Terror threat: We'll kill Madonna
MADONNA has axed three gigs in Israel — after terrorists threatened to kill her and her kids.

The singer was terrified by a blitz of poison-pen letters.

Madge “freaked out” when she learned of a terrorist plot to kill her two young children if she performed in Israel.

She first planned to defy the extremists but cancelled after the unnamed Palestinian group mentioned details about Lourdes, seven, and three-year-old Rocco in a series of threatening letters.

A source said: “The notes were unbelievably scary. Madonna is a strong woman but she freaked out when her kids were mentioned.

“At first she was prepared to go on stage anyway and hire extra security.

“But she was not ready to take chances with her kids — they are her whole world.”

Life may be a mystery, Madonna....but TERRORISM isn't.

8. She's got nothing to fear but a lack of publicity...
I can't help being cynical. How many US celebrities go to Israel and don't get death threats? But Madonna, a washed-up, middleaged, major lack of talent manages to get all this free publicity....

Violet...

5. Exactly!
Thank you, that's exactly what I had planned to point out. But of course, it doesn't matter, doncha know, because they're Israeli!

6. And the Palestinians?
Oh no, they keep their children at home, out of harm's way. Of course Jews shouldn't even be in Israel, so that's their problem. <sarcasm>

7. Need I point out...
that when your home is getting razed, there is no such thing as "out of harms way"? (I guess I do...) :silly:

Question: How many Israeli homes have be razed by Palestinian bulldozers?

Strange that you think "Jews shouldn't be in Israel", given that you have moved there...sounds very conflicted.

Note:
<sarcasm> = start sarcastic remarks
</sarcasm> = end of sarcastic remarks

9. You raise two issues
First issue: You do seem to confuse the facts. The children that were killed were participating in an impromptu demonstration called for by the PA when the IDF was conducting an operation nearby. Need I say more? I guess I do. No children were harmed in the process of building destruction. All houses were evacuated prior to that operation. The terrorists were using those buildings to shoot from, so I don't think they were very safe places for children anyway, do you? Temporary housing... tents were set up for those who had no relatives they could stay with.

The second issue: Strange that you think "Jews shouldn't be in Israel", given that you have moved there...sounds very conflicted.

I never said or meant to imply, and I certainly don't think "Jews shouldn't be in Israel". I've been quoted out of context, if it is a quote.

10. "I've been quoted out of context, if it is a quote."
Well, if you're the same Gimel that posted #6 in this thread, then it is a quote. If you're not the same Gimel, someone is impersonating you, and doing a bang-up job of it...

As for the IDF goon squads "conducting an operation nearby", would that be in the very communities where these now dead children lived?

The terrorists were using those buildings to shoot from, so I don't think they were very safe places for children anyway, do you?

Does someone shooting at the IDF in Gaza make them a terrorist? That is news to me...

Temporary housing... tents were set up for those who had no relatives they could stay with.

Big-hearted of you to think of the children...

24. Yeah, out of context.

You missed the sarcasm tag "<sarcasm>"

That means out-of-context because you failed to include an important part of the post that changes the meaning entirely.

Edited to include the quotation marks so that again you wouldn't mis-quote me.

Madonna kicks off world tour, minus Israel dates

<snip>

"But as the queen of the revamp began her "Reinvention" tour, the mother of two announced she had been forced to pull the plug on her Israeli tour as violence racks the West Bank and Gaza.

"It's not a good idea to go there and do concerts," she told the U.S. television entertainment show "Access Hollywood" in an exclusive interview aired late Monday.

The British tabloid newspaper The Sun reported Monday that Madonna had canceled her three Israeli dates after she received threats against her and her children, seven-year-old Lourdes and three-year-old Rocco.

But Madonna denied she or her brood had been threatened, saying: "No, if I had my way, I'd go. My manager wouldn't let me."
She said her manager scrapped the Israeli concerts scheduled for September because of the "attack on the leader of Hamas."

15. Butterflies...I'll chime in....
You want to go to the mat on this ??

The fact is she did cancel her 3 dates and it wasnt because
she didnt like the lighting of the stage. After the story broke
in the SUN ,she diplomatically back-peddled blaming "her
manager". Whats the big deal??

Of course terrorism and fear plays a part.

17. Of course terrorism and fear was involved.
Do you think she would admit to threats and her fears for
her childrens safety??...I doubt it.

No, it was much easier to blame her manager in order to
get out of the concerts.

about this other than "the initial post"...

Hope springs eternal, as does the "look over there" gambit.

On Edit: Now back to the topic that has brought us all of these bullshit "bottom of the barrel" ploys, Dead were civilians, Israeli army admits.

...is it any wonder a performing artist would skip touring in the ME.
