Israel 'fabricated' child-bomber story
Israel 'fabricated' child-bomber story: Palestinian leaders have accused Israel of fabricating a story about a 14-year-old Palestinian boy who planned to blow himself up.

After every ''victory'' you have more enemies: Jeanette Winterson

1. So Palestinian children are NOT used as suicide bombers?
Is that the story?

I see the Palestinians are very worked up because their children have been getting killed. And the Israelis are worked up because THEIR children have been getting killed.

The problem seems to be that the Israelis have killed not quite three times as many Palestinians. So the Palestinians feel the numbers should be kept even? Or the Israelis should not respond to the suicide bombings at all so only Palestinians will have kill numbers?

If the Israelis reduce THEIR killing to only an eye for an eye, a child for a child, will the Palestinians think things are now fair?

Let me know your thoughts.

11. Cameras at the roadblock
It was a crew from the AP (I think) that was waiting, like everyone else, to pass through the checkpoint. Besides, with the proliferation of news sources and the number of crews running around the world, especially "hot spots", is it any surprise there were crews there? Do you recall the Marines landing in Somalia to the glare of cameras? Or the man halting the tanks in Tienanmen Square? In places of turmoil it often seems there are more reporters than people involved in the story. Therefore, not only is it not inconceivable that a news crew would stay in a location anticipating a story (how often do incidents occur at such check points), but precisely what reporters do.

And to reiterate my other point, al Jazeera is known for lying and twisting ANY story in order to paint Israel in a bad light. We're talking about the same "news" source that reported the Israeli government warned its citizens not to go to work in the WTC on 9/11.

9. Al Jazeera
gives the view of the Arabs, but is known as a moderate source. In the extremist world of pro-likudist Zionism, this, I suppose, is biased. They were an important independent source of truth during the American attack on Afghanistan, which made them a bombing target along with the BBC.

10. Al Jazera lies
And compared to some state-sponsored Arab media, calling them "a moderate source," means they only lie moderately?

20. Point out a single occasion of a "lie"
It shouldn't be so difficult if it is as you say. Pick something from the current front page if you wish, or something from their archives if there is not something clearly suitable.

7. Remember, we are talking Sharon here
Since Sharon has (finally!) been fingered for the
crook he is, he needs a new ad line.
How about this: Sharon, he's not just a butcher anymore!

8. Do you really believe it was made up?

What part is fabrication? I mean, I saw the video of the bomber. He sure looked like a kid to me.

I felt sorry for him. Kids shouldn't be used that way.

Neither should young men.

15. Oh, well...
if Aljazeera says something both you and they want to believe, well that's instant credibility, isn't it? NOT!
This is a ridiculously slanted article, with a high hypocrisy quotient.

Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 05:20 PM by Darranar
Aljazeera quoted some people and organizations as stating such an opinion.
