Bus bombing slaughters at least ten
The murderous animals have struck again:

At least 10 people were killed and 45 others were wounded in a suicide bombing on a bus in central Jerusalem, shortly before 9 A.M. Thursday.

. . .

Magen David Adom said that 10 people were in serious condition, 15 had moderate wounds and the rest sustained light injuries. All of the wounded were taken to hospitals in the Jerusalem area.

. . .

"It was a very serious attack on a bus packed with passengers," Levy said. "According to what we know at the moment ... we're talking about a suicide bomber."

The blast tore apart the bus, turning it into a twisted wreck. Shattered glass lay on the ground. One side of the bus had been blown out and the back half of the roof was blown off. . . . Stephane Ben Shushan, who owns a chocolate store in the upscale neighborhood, was walking to work and was outside his shop, about 10 meters away, when the explosion went off. "It's indescribable," he said. "It's a real nightmare, you can smell the blood." He said there was heavy traffic and the bus was driving slow at the time.

. . .

Did I say animals? They are so much less than that. Excuse me while I call Jerusalem to see if my loved ones are OK.

1. They're HUMAN. Animals don't do this.
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 04:28 AM by aquart
Pretending the enemy isn't human is the surest way to endless war.

Who's keeping count? Do we have enough graves now?

I'll wait till morning to find out if my cousin was caught in it.

2. I just called my family
The blast blew out the windows and shook the walls of my nephew's (cousin's son ... I just think of him as my nephew, since that's what he's called in Russian) school. Luckily, he and the rest of the family are OK. I can't imagine what his mother must have gone through when she heard where the blast was.

And to answer your question: No, we don't have enough graves. It will take a few more to end this. It will not end with words and signed documents alone. Recognizing that your enemy is sub-human when, in fact, it is, is the first step to victory and peace.

6. Referring to anyone...
...as a sub-human is wrong and evocative of racist ideologies.

20. Were these hypothetical people

wrapping themselves with belly bombs and killing men, women and children too? If they were your analogy might make some sense.

edit to add: Otherwise your example is offensive

3. Timed
for the prisoner exchange, no doubt, just so that people don't start thinking that the release of three dead bodies and one live Israeli means peace. No recognition of right to exist by Hamas. Let's face it, there never will be.

4. Probably another woman redeeming her husbands honor.
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 06:12 AM by JasonDeter
The creepy looking man approaced the religiously shrouded shriveled old man and said, "my wife has profained me and dishonored me!"
The religiously shrouded shriveled old man looked at the oppressed plain shamed looking woman and stated plainly,
"You have profained your husband plain woman! and to redeem his honor you must strap this bomb to your body and kill innocent human beings!"
The plain looking shriveled up woman having absolutely no self respect or human feelings considered her plight. If she disobeyed her husband would kill her and her family would be shamed in the community by the religiously shrouded shriveld old man. And because she had no respect or humanity she obeyed.
Her creepy looking husband lit the stub of a cigerette he found in the street gutter and thought to himself, "Whew, I got away with one there!" and winked at the naive plain oppressed looking woman who passed him. He hurried to catch up to her and asked her where she lived.

23. The suicide bomber....
....was identified as Ali Munir Ja'ara. He was a policeman from the Aida refugee camp. None of the news reports I've read mentioned anything about a 'creepy looking man' with a penchant for fishing cigarette butts from the gutter or 'a religously shrouded shriveled old man.' Nor was 'a plain shamed looking woman' with 'absolutely no self respect or human feelings' alluded to either.

Say you have a pacifist prime minister as opposed to Sharon. How many unanswered suicide attacks would you and the people of Israel allow before you demanded action or took it of your own accord?

19. Let's put it this way
Why should any people of any nation allow an attack of this nature to go unanswered? To hope to reason with a society that considers this an acceptable method of behavior.

Read here please.

One can only pray for the day that the % of the Palestinian people rise to 100% who discourage these actions. Unfortunately we are only half way there so far.

So whether it's Sharon, Barak, Mitznah or Ghandi the answer remains NONE.

22. Then why should you expect the Palestinians do the same?
I've yet to see a period between terrorist attacks, whether it's a week or 3 months, that wasn't marred by daily assassinations, raids, or bulldozings, all resulting in the deaths of many INNOCENT Palestinians.

These people feel pain just as you, they suffer just as you, and they have a breaking point just as you do. So why do you and others stand up and cheer everytime a raid is conducted, everytime a 'terrorist' is shot with a missile in a crowded marketplace, and everytime a home is bulldozed, when you must deep in your heart know that the end result will eventually be a Palestinian getting fed up with the daily TERROR and doing something like this.
