Sweden Should Take Lead To Make Suicide Bombing A 'Crime Against Humanity'
(Title abbreviated)

AFTER GLORIFYING HOMICIDE BOMBER, SWEDEN SHOULD TAKE LEAD TO MAKE SUICIDE BOMBING A 'CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY'
Join the Simon Wiesenthal Center's protest to Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson over an art exhibition sponsored by the Swedish government that glorifies a Palestinian homicide bomber and to demand it takes a lead to make suicide bombing a 'crime against humanity'.

"Snow White and the Madness of Truth" which is displayed at Stockholm's Museum of National Antiquities, features a sailboat on a pool of red water with a photo of the smiling female suicide bomber, Hanada Jaradat, who murdered 22 Israeli Jews and Arabs in an October 4th attack on a restaurant in Haifa, Israel.

Israel has demanded that Sweden dismantle the inflammatory exhibition after the Swedish government gave assurances, in advance, that the Middle East conflict would not be included in the exhibition. The inclusion of this exhibit is a clear violation on what was agreed upon. While artists have the right of freedom of expression, they should be challenged when they try to depict terror and mayhem as a virtue. The artwork was designed by Israeli-born Dror Feiler and his Swedish wife Gunilla Skoeld Feiler.

1. Let's get Sharon and his thugs out of the picture
and let a true peace process begin. THAT is the correct
focus of our action at this time. I do not blame the
Palestinians for fighting back. Let us stop giving them
such an abundance of reasons for fighting back FIRST, and go from there.

4. wow
have you gone mad? You ask Israel to stop it's reckless invasions of refugee camps? To stop bulldozing people's homes and putting an Apartheid Wall in place? To stop murdering innocent civilians? Wow that's just way too radical for anyone to accept.

3. I don't get it, is the art gallery governmental or private?
I understood that it was an independent entity not subject to state control as regards content.

10. no; what you do at home is your own business
Even in Germany, the basic law/constitution guarantees it.
You are not allowed to display those symbols in public; somebody so deranged that he really feels the need to hang one up at home is allowed to do so.

7. Wasn't in a gallery
The display was for the conference on genocide sponsored by the Swedish government. Therefore, it's presence is the responsibility of Sweden, not a private entrepreneur.

6. Actually
The Wiesenthal Center should take the lead condemning Israeli aggression and war crimes.

(What are the chances of that happening?)

8. Are you
choosing to overlook the suicide bombing attacks, calling Israel's self-defense a crime against humanity?

9. Just as an aside
When MoveOn.org took Hitler's name in vain recently the Simon Wiesenthal Center were very publically all over them.

However when that british Lib Dem MP made some vaguely pro-Palestinian noises, the israel government spokesman described her as "worse than Hitler", which I thought was a trifle hypebolic and the Simon Wiesenthal Center didn't appear to make much of a fuss over this. Of course I could have just missed the article.

12. Wouldn't it be nice if folks kicked up this much of a fuss
over say, kids getting their heads blown off, run over by bulldozers and tanks, crushed by bulldozers, etc. Wait, what am I saying - of course discrediting an ambiguous art piece in Sweden, created by an israeli, who in a companion piece calls the deaths 'murder' is much more crucial to the ME peace process.

Whatever.

13. Created by
the Swedish wife of an ex-Israeli. The memorial of a simple murder it was not. It was a mass murder and approaches genocide and crimes against humanity.

I think the furor over Corrie was even greater than this minor flap over the Israeli ambassador's reaction. It certainly wasn't over the art work itself.
