Aust donates $3m to Palestinians

AUSTRALIA will donate another $3 million in humanitarian assistance to refugees in the Palestinian territories, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said today.

The United Nations Relief and Workers Agency will receive $2 million and the International Committee of the Red Cross $1 million.

5. Israel wants aid to the Palestinians

Of course, the GOI and the Israeli people want the Palestinians to receive aid to improve their condition. Hopefully it won't all go into Arafat's account. Humanitarian aid to provide for the neediest is a high priority for peace.
