That's what Kentucky came to be called as first, the indigenous tribes fought over it(though these tended to be constant skirmishes, not conquests) then the whites, who wanted it all and either killed the Indians or removed them to less desirable lands, where most languished or died. When Joshua began the conquest of ancient Canaan, the Israelites were under orders to "devote to destruction" (less acceptable word intentionally omitted)it's there in the Bible, so this isn't a slam on Judeo-Christian religion. Virgins were spared and raped as victory spoils. Everyone else, even the animals, were slaughtered "without pity." Those few who managed to outsmart the Hebrew war machine were enslaved and became forced laborers. At least some of their descendents still live in Palestine. This is the way that present-day Zionists believe they acquired a divine claim on the land of the Palestinians. In my view, they have no more legitimacy than the claims of whites who live on the dark and bloody ground of Kentucky today. But "facts on the ground" gain a legitimacy over time, especially when the conquerers have might on their side.

No, not the Bible. Read "The Case For Israel" by Alan Dershowitz. No, it's not biased nor racist. Dershowitz clearly refutes the claims against Israel and proves them with the words of Arab leaders themselves. It really is a good book.

The "Palestinians," btw, are ARABS. Their language is Arabic. Their religion is Muslim and their sacred cities are Mecca and Medina, neither of which is in Israel. Their native land is ARABIA. They got to "Palestine" sometime in the last thousand years or so. The Jews, however, were there over four thousand years ago. Until some people murdered most of them and deported the rest. But they keep coming back. Funny about that.

I think it's lovely that you know so much about Biblical murders on the part of the Jews. You really ought to read up a bit more on the Persians, and the Syrians, and Chaldeans. The Egyptian kings used to favor a pose holding aloft an enemy's severed head. The Assyrians bragged about cutting off testicles. They were also so big on amputating noses that an entire city was designated for people without noses.

The Hebrew injunction of an eye for an eye was considered an amazingly merciful policy in its time.

It's cool the way you half-read the Bible and flunk all the rest of history.
