Canadian national suspected of being Hamas assassin
The Shin Bet security service said Monday that it
is holding a Palestinian with a Canadian passport
who is suspected of being recruited by Hamas
militants in the Gaza Strip to carry out attacks
on Israelis and Jews in Canada and the United
States.

Jamal Akkal, 23, who was arrested in early November,
was born in the Nusseirat refugee camp in the Gaza
Strip and emigrated to Canada in 1999. While he was
visiting the Gaza Strip recently, he was allegedly
contacted by Hamas militant Ahmed Wahabe, who is
suspected of teaching Akkal to fire weapons and
prepare explosive devices.

Akkal is suspected of having received orders to
follow Israeli VIPs arriving in the U.S. and to
assassinate them using an M16 rifle. He was
also allegedly told to carry out attacks
against members of the Jewish communities in
Canada and the U.S.

1. This was after
torture. Something Canada is nailing Israel for.

2. Do you have a link
I haven't heard that charge. No torture was applied in my estimation.

5. From your sources:
1. "He is suffering, I heard that he's been tortured," said Imam Abdullah Hammoud of the Al-Hirja Mosque and School in Windsor, where Akkal and his brothers pray.

Re your 1st source: Anyone being held can be said to be suffering, however, the Imam's statement that he's 'heard' something sounds like cheap gossip.

2. Akkal is also reportedly known as Jammal Zakariya Hadi Abed El Aqel. The National Post has reported that the extended Aqel family is known in Gaza as having links to Hamas, a Palestinian group outlawed in Canada for its use of suicide bombers in Israel.

Re your 2nd source: No comment.

4. So Shin Bet can use Canadian passports for actions in Jordan
but Hamas can't use them for its purposes ? Seems unfair.

not Shin Bet but rather the Mossad, which, as you know is a foreign intelligence agency akin to our CIA as well as to those agencies from all other countries.

So, Hamas is now equivalent to a country's foreign intelligence service, ex-Jew?
