Obama Mideast adviser Dennis Ross to leave post
<snip>

"The Obama administration's top Middle East adviser Dennis Ross is set to leave his post by the end of November, American news reports said Thursday, citing US officials.

Ross, a former diplomat and negotiator, is a key adviser to President Barack Obama on Iran and the Middle East peace process.

"After nearly three years of serving in the Administration, I am going to be leaving to return to private life," Ross said in a written statement released by the White House, according to the Wall Street Journal."

<snip>

"Ross is a polarizing figure in the Middle East, where he is widely viewed as sympathetic toward Israel and an unfair broker in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, which has stalled for over a year.

In September, Palestinians protested in Ramallah against a visit by Ross and US envoy David Hale. Protesters held signs reading "We do not trust the USA, an ally of Israel, enemy of Palestine."

Also this year, a political advisor to the late president Yasser Arafat said Ross' "extreme bias" led to the resignation of George Mitchell, the Obama administration's Mideast peace envoy."

2. that's a shame
These claims of "extreme bias" only started a couple years ago when the pro palestinian folks started the media intifada.

He was pres clintons main guy at camp david and all the palestinian negotiators respected him and thought he was fair and honest.
