2. I say that not only because of the recent events, but because products have gone off the shelves
despite the fact that they're high quality things that apparently there was some demand for.

6. i think they do to an extent
For example, here in leftish San Francisco where there is a decent sized Arabic community and a fair bit of support for the Palestinian movement, the Israeli government advertises heavily - tourism, "get the facts"-type advocacy, gay Israeli festivals (presumably far from any orthodox rabbis) and so on.

Obviously the Israeli consulate has no control over military policy back at home but they are charged with trying to promote Israel's cside of things anyway.

3. I remember hearing the exact same words 25 years ago and then again in 2000.
It's becoming like a commemorative ritual of criticism without any real effect. I'm afraid I'll hear them again in one or two decades from now.

4. I guess maybe so, but it sure seems lately like the envelope's being pushed
It's as if Ian Smith or an unrepentant PW Botha is calling the shots.
