Arrested Palestinians admit to murder attempt

Three Palestinians affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, recently arrested by Shin Bet and IDF forces in Samaria, admitted to investigators that they had planned to kidnap and murder an Israeli member of the security forces deployed in the area.

Details of their arrests were released by the Judea and Samaria Police on Wednesday, who said the three were arrested because of their affiliation with an enemy organization. Only after investigators began questioning them were details of their intentions revealed. Judea and Samaria Police spokesman Rafi Yafe said the identity of the Israeli who the terrorists planned to abduct and murder is unknown, but said that without a doubt their arrests prevented them from carrying out their plans. The findings of the police investigation have been handed over to the military prosecutor in order to prepare indictment sheets against them, said Yafe. He noted that additional suspects may be arrested.
