Bush Backs Sharon, Angers Palestinians
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) has given visiting Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites) broad support on key issues, backing off from overt criticism of a West Bank security fence and disappointing Palestinians in the process.

1. gee, what a surprise...
Not. When will my government do something in the foreign policy arena that I can proud of instead of ashamed of?

4. Sharon ignores Bush, insists wall construction will go on
WASHINGTON - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon insisted yesterday that construction will continue on a 'security fence' snaking through the West Bank, despite sharp objections from the United States and the Palestinians.

Sharon met President George W. Bush at the White House, just three days after Mr Bush said he had a "problem" with the boundary, which Israel says it needs to keep out radicals bent on launching terrorist attacks.

"The security fence will continue to be built with every effort to minimise the infringement on the daily life of the Palestinian population," said Sharon, in a joint Press appearance with Mr Bush during his eighth visit to the White House as Prime Minister.

*****

On the same topic, Sharon said Israelis were thankful for every hour of "increased quiet and less terrorism," in recent weeks.

"Mr President, I am confident that you, as the leader of the free world in its war against terror, will act to ensure that the Palestinians put a complete stop to the threat of Palestinian "terrorism" (resistance to Israeli oppression and occupation), so that it will never rear its head again."

5. Trancript of the conversation
GWB: Ariel, I'm sorry to even bring this up but the wall could cause
a problem.

AS: The wall will be built as planned.

GWB: Okay. Another piece of cake?

AS: Sure. I'm only three pounds away from 400.

6. The Wall Has Been Underconstruction Since Last Year
round about now it is almost completed. Why so much house demolotion was required along with orchard destruction. If bush had any concern what so ever he did not need Abbas to hip him.

I have on faith in this process Sharon has been given carte blanche and well has anyone really expected this was going to change?

What a farce it was when Bush mentioned it after his meeting with Abbas... they are shining the Palestinians on and providing just enough lip service to make it look like the peace process is genuine. It is not it is just history repeating itself.

So as when the revisionists come in to tell the story correctly and in the proper perspective RW Pro-Likud can maintain the deception

very old news. American for the most part is anti-arab anti-islam and anti-palestinian and campus-watch.org is going to make sure it stays that way. Their black list is a mile long.

7. Security threat
The US and Europe are under a watch for airline hijacking. Maybe you should remove those security checks that inconvenience travelers so much. Maybe you should stop screening passengers, and just let everyone buy a ticket and take a ride. No passports, no visas necessary. It's just an encumbrance, after all. It makes it too difficult for those who are carrying explosives to even get on!

Hijackings, if they occur, so what. Better luck next time.

8. defacto annexation
will increase the security threat. Blinded by the symptoms of the problem, the action taken only aggravates the root cause. The true security threat to Israel is the state of mind of many Palestinians. The wall (annexation) only makes things worse in the short and long term, just as it is intended to do.

9. Starnge conundrum
How can Israel annex land that already is a part of Israel? Is there a Palestinian state? Is there a recognized border? No. None exists. The green line itself is an illusion.

The fence is a structure for defense, not a border. The border is yet to be determined once the violence stops. Dismantle the terror organizations, as part of the Road Map, then the fence/wall will be dismantled.
