Deadly gun battle in Gaza mosque |
|
At least 13 people have been killed and at least 85 injured in a fierce gun battle in Gaza, emergency services say.
Eyewitnesses say hundreds of Hamas fighters and policemen surrounded a mosque where followers of a radical Islamist cleric were holed up.
Hamas fired rocket-propelled grenades at the mosque and stormed the leader's house in Rafah, near the Egypt border.
It is thought that at least 100 supporters of the al-Qaeda-linked group, Jund Ansar Allah, were inside. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8202553.stm

Can the two co-exist? What are the ultimate goals of Hamas... liberation of the West Bank (i.e. termination of Jewish settlements and expulsion of Israeli forces) or the complete destruction of Israel (a country that has a seat in the United Nations).
If you advocate the destruction of Israel, then what is to be done with the Israelis who would be a people without a nation?
If Israel is destroyed, what becomes of their nuclear ordinances (if they have not already been detonated over Tehran and other sources of anti-Israel violence)?

Peace with Israel is not and never has been the goal.
