Hamas: We will never recognize the enemy
Two top Hamas leaders made their first appearances at public events since Israel's Gaza war on Friday, signaling defiance of rival Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as he discussed peace prospects with a U.S. envoy.

"We cannot, we will not, and we will never recognize the enemy in any way, shape or form," Mahmoud Zahar, one of the two leaders, said in a mosque sermon broadcast on the Islamist movement's radio station.

Ismail Haniyeh, who heads the Hamas administration in Gaza, spoke at another mosque. As a precaution against assassination, both men had gone underground during a 22-day offensive Israel launched on Dec. 27 to counter Palestinian rocket fire. Their rare statements since have been mostly in pre-recorded speeches.

Hamas will sign a peace deal. No, really. Rahm Emanuel will force them to. And once they do, there will be real peace.

BTW, Mahmoud Zahar is the guy who months ago said all Jewish children worldwide were fair game for target practice. Nice guy. But once the paper is signed, I'm sure he'll come around too.

2. Like a good neighbor.....Why shouldn't the world take their words seriously?

I think they mean what they say and that is not promising for a two state solution as long as Hamas is the governing body. Their actions are consistent with their words. Their priority does not appear to be education and the economy.

3. The famous last words of the terrorist group PLO were thus, too.
Hopefully, instead of being degraded and undermined like the PLO was, if Hamas recognizes Israel after negotiations for peace, we may actually see a peace.

4. But, but, but
There WILL BE PEACE!

Obama says so.

He will push peace on people who want to destroy Israel, and "will never recognize the enemy".

Hamas is so stupid.

They keep shooting themselves in the foot and making the Palestinians' lives more and more miserable.
