Palestinians Suicide Bombing Attack Kills Several Israeli Soldiers
Source: China View

GAZA, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of Fatah movement said on Tuesday night that one of its militants blew himself up among a group of Israeli soldiers, killing and wounding several soldiers.

The group said in an urgent statement sent to reporters that it claimed responsibility for the attack, adding that "the bomber and 20 Israeli soldiers were killed and wounded."

There was no immediate Israeli army response to confirm or deny the groups' report that one of its militants carried out a suicide bombing attack against a group of soldiers near the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.

The group said in a written leaflet sent to reporters that one of its militants blew himself up with explosives into a house full of Israeli soldiers in al-Atatra neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.

"Twelve soldiers were killed and eight wounded into the house," said the leaflet, adding that "Abdel Rahman Bawadi, 22, carrying an explosive belt blew himself up into the house that was full of 18 Israeli soldiers."

The leaflet also said that al-Aqsa Brigades fired R.B.J. bombs to target the group of soldiers, "one of our militants managed to reach the house, went inside and blew himself up killing and wounding all the soldiers inside."

1. Why would Fatah do something like that now?
I thought they were too busy heaping scorn on Hamas.

2. AAMB was the target of the November 4 missile strikes into Gaza

They're as much of a target in Gaza as Hamas is, and one can't expect them to roll over just because their parent party in the West Bank wants them to.

3. Early Abbas blamed Hamas, but today he said Israel
was trying to wipe out Palestinians. I have no idea what Abbas' reaction to this is.

10. Don't believe a word of this bs propaganda

I'm over here (Israel) with several close relatives in the army. There is no way that something of this magnitude could be hidden. This is such a small country that the "jungle telegraph" works extremely efficiently (my neighbour's dog's vet's aunt's brother's uncle). We get daily reports of the injured and dead soldiers. Do you think funerals could take place without half the country knowing? This is not a reprise of Stalinist Russia or Nazi Germany where local news can be successfully muffled, no matter what you read. Don't take your own propaganda so seriously.

As far as I can recall, one soldier was killed by a suicide bombing a couple of days ago and several injured. There have been altogether some 12-15 casualties in the IDF including 4 dead from friendly fire.
