Israel wounded in propaganda war
ISRAEL has taken a battering in the global propaganda battle over its war with Hamas, despite deploying all the latest weaponry from YouTube videos to Twitter blogs and an overworked spokeswoman.

Governments worldwide have slammed the Israeli military onslaught on the Gaza Strip, with the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, condemning attacks near UN schools that killed dozens and foreign media angry at being kept out of the Palestinian territory.

With images of parents carrying lifeless children to overwhelmed hospitals dominating international media, protests have been staged in world capitals and Israeli websites reportedly came under cyber attack.

The European Union External Relations Commissioner, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, told the Israeli President, Shimon Peres, that Israel's image was "being destroyed" by its refusal to heed appeals for a ceasefire.

1. But when hasn't it in more recent times?
Remember the "shitty little country," remark? So what's changed and why should Israel care? Has Israel caring before made any difference? The usual suspects may be joined by some others...ho hum, Israel hatred as usual.

2. I saw an incredibly bizarre commercial during KO...
last night -- it looked like one of those "Save the Children" type things, with children crying and such, but it was calling for help for the people of Israel from Christians. Very wierd.

4. Far as I can tell...
The PR campaign has been a huge success in the US media, which consistently portray the Israeli action as self-defense, give little attention given to the background history, and invoke almost no mention let alone criticism of Israel keeping media out of Gaza to witness events first hand. US media are spinning this attack just like they spun the invasion of Iraq. The fact that activists show up at demos outside the US is irrelevant.

7. What a biased article

It mentions how Israeli web sites are being hacked, but nothing about Israel hacking Arab TV and radio stations to put out its own propaganda.

11. it's hard to be a Goliath in any time but you gotta hand it to'm in how much control they have here
in the U.S.

it will be interesting to see how the O admin will handle this crisis once they are sworn in... israel has probably calculated that they have a free hand at least until then.
