Israel to build 1,300 new settler homes in Jerusalem
<snip>

"Israel on Friday announced its second settlement project in occupied east Jerusalem this month, enraging Palestinians just ahead of a US visit aimed at rescuing the stalemated peace process.

Jerusalem municipality confirmed a report in Haaretz newspaper that the green light had been given for 1,300 new homes for Jewish settlers in the occupied and annexed east of the city.

The houses will be built in Ramat Shlomo where there are already 2,000 settler homes, Haaretz reported.

The paper said the decision to proceed was taken on Tuesday by the Jerusalem urban planning commission which reports to the interior ministry.

Haaretz called it one of the most ambitious expansion plans for settler homes in east Jerusalem, which was captured by Israel in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war and later annexed in a move not recognised by the international community."

religiously fundamentalist Israel --- also with atomic weapons --

and our influence/control over Israel has been used to move the US into the Middle East ---

Israel and America's weapons programs are so thoroughly intertwined that "it is almost impossible

to tell the difference between them."

Afthanistan was not the first or last place where our government has armed religous fanatics

to move their agenda ---

The liberal peace-loving Israel we were once familiar with has been subdued -- with the murder

of RABIN being a clear act of political violence by this right-wing religiously fanatical Israel.

6. You mean the folk who are opposed to any peaceful resolution?
The sort of people who thrive on making generalisations about the Palestinians, who froth at the mouth the minute anyone suggests that there needs to be a ceasefire? Yep. I'd agree on that one...
