Israeli defense minister in Turkey Monday
http://www.thenewanatolian.com/tna-31174.html

"Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak will pay a visit to Turkey on Monday upon the invitation of Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul to iron out some recent sources of friction after statements by Turkish leaders that the Gaza Strip has become an open prison for the Palestinians."

Since the Turks have little love for Arabs, I suspect the real source of friction between Turkey and Israel has been Israeli activity in Kurdish Iraq and Turkey's criticism of Israel's Gaza policies is an indirect manifestation their Iraqi policies.

1. I think it may also have to do with throwing a little something to the Turkish masses
who are probably very aware of Israeli crimes against Palestine, and the turkish government cannot be seen as complicit by its silence.
