Is Israel an issue for you?
Am I the only person sick of the one-sided, hypocritical foreign policy the government has with regard to Israel?

It's obvious that the Zionist lobby controls our foreign policy. Why is the US the only country to never condemn Israeli aggression at the UN? Why did America veto the resolution that would prevent Israel from killing Arafat?

For once a politician (Howard Dean) suggests a balanced foreign policy, but he only gets blasted by Likudist monster Joe Lieberman who thinks that settlement building and air strikes on residential areas will lead to peace.

3. Actually, no...
I'm sick of it too.

But I don't believe in a grand Zionist lobby to take over the world led by AIPAC.

holy shit..
OK, Israel can't even be used by any other country as an economic model because it depends so heavily on US support. What level of support would be "fair" to you?

it happens.

Usually with dupes only, but occasionally there can be strange coincidences.

This was meant to be posted in General Discussion, just like my first thread with the same text. The moderator locked that one because it didn't fit the guidelines of this forum. Explain please because this is messed up.

17. At least yr question got answered...
Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 06:03 PM by Violet_Crumble
Y'know, all the 'where's EnragedAmerican run off to now??' questions. They never posted it here to begin with and wasn't aware of the rules about I/P content (and this one is a bit borderline because it's discussing US/Israel relations and mentions Arafat in passing), so while you were asking away, they were up in GD wondering where their post had gotten to. Personally, I think it's a bit strange to be so harsh towards someone doing that when some long-time regulars from this forum start new threads in here that aren't recent news stories or op-eds...

edit: Got their name wrong...

Violet...

threads posted anywhere about I/P that aren't based on recent op-ed or news articles often suffer the same fate.

24. Your are certainly not
the only person...Much of the world is against US foreign policy.

I wonder too why the US is against the resolution to prevent the killing of a democratically elected leader. That says a lot about US foreign policy. I don't think the US is the only country to never condemn Israeli aggression at the UN. If I'm not mistaken The Marshall Islands does too. Yes, The Marshall Islands! Do you know anything about it - where it is, etc.? I don't.

27. Well,
if believing that the special relationship the U.S has with Israel should be maintained and encouraged makes me a Zionist, then so be it. Israel is the only democracy in that region, and to forsake them for some phony neutrality is bad policy. I want a mutual prace, and I want the Palestinians to have their state, but not at the expense of Israel.
