Ahmadinejad: We'll talk with US, not with Israel
Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 09:51 PM by oberliner
From Jerusalem Post:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that his country was not opposed to holding talks with the US, but that it would not speak with Israel, since Iran does not recognize it, Israel Radio reported Sunday night.

In an interview with Al-Arabiya, Ahmadinejad said that "the United States must recognize Iran's independence and its elected government."

He added that Iraq's and Iran's neighbors were prepared to offer the two countries aid, and that he had already sent a letter to Saudi Arabia on the subject.

From Islamic Republic News Agency:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejan told Al-arabyia television that Tehran is not against talks with the US if just and proper conditions are provided.

He also said that if the US thinks that it will be able to ignore or jeoperdize rights of the Iraqi people through talks with Iran, Syria or Saudi Arabia, it is fully mistaken.

Ahmadinejad told Al-arabyia, one of the main Arab satellite TV stations, that Iran is not against talks with any country except the Zionist regime which is not recognized by Tehran.
