Senior Hezbollah militant dies of wounds incurred in IDF offensive
No much here, as is typical with Hiz'bullah, but you get to see the dueling casualty counts.

Hezbollah announced Saturday the death of a military commander from wounds he sustained in monthlong fighting with Israel, making him the highest-ranking guerrilla the group acknowledges to have died in the war.

In a statement carried on Hezbollah's al-Manar TV, Hezbollah said "the commander Hajj Ali Mohammed Saleh Bilal was martyred from wounds he sustained in the confrontations."

It did not give his rank other than commander, meaning he was from the military wing.

Lebanese security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Bilal was a sector military commander, but had no further details.

1. Ahmadinejad is Beaming With Pride
"Martyrdom is the peak of mankind's perfection and the martyrs enjoy the highest status of humanity in this world and the Hereafter.
People spend tough years of strenuous work in a bid to achieve the peaks of grandeur and pride, while our dear martyrs achieved those high peaks in shortest possible time."

- Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

2. or he's just dead, like all the others
Surely he's proud of his life's mission, as are we all, egos having to believe it was worth the effort,
not a one of us does not pretend it has been worth it. Even you are proud, a billion people are proud,
god is proud, jesus is proud, and the devil, filled with pride, sauters off in to the sunset with the blonde. ;-)

3. Iran's Ahmadinejad to attend UN assembly in New York
He's on a roll, all right.

Tehran- Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will visit New York this month to attend the United Nations General Assembly, state television IRIB reported Saturday. In an interview with IRIB, Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki confirmed that Ahmadinejad will visit the UN General Assembly and delivery a speech in front of the assembly.

This would be the second visit by Ahmadinejad to the United States since taking office in August 2005. In September 2005, he was at UN headquarters in New York to speak to the General Assembly.
