so very nice of hizbollah to do this. it was their actions that caused all the destruction. again, the people will be fooled and they are heralded as heroes.

1. Sounds like a Republican tactic to me..
Let them eat cake..

They've lost their families, their homes basically their lives and livelihoods.

12. I didn't say they were connected..
I said it is a tactic...Big difference.

Could be the CiA (at someones direction) handing a wad of cash to Hisbollah members, supposedly under orders from their leaders, where as the desired effect is to antagonize and motivate the Israelis.

Nothing is black and white anymore, especially news reports.

The similarity echoes Republican tactics.

2. Hezbollah airforce bombed the crap out of Lebanon?
"it was their actions that caused all the destruction"

Wrong. It was the actions of the IDF that caused the vast bulk of the destruction. You might honestly believe that Hezbollah started the fight, you might even honestly believe that Israel had no choice but to transform a minor border incident into an outright war, but you cannot honestly believe that Hezbollah caused all the destruction.

Hezbollah is the only organization on the ground able to deliver relief to the people of Lebanon. The people of Lebanon are not fools and are not being fooled.

11. it was hizbollah's aggression that caused the IDF to bomb
lebanon. they did quite a lot of bombing, but only to prevent more weapons from iran coming into the country.

you do remember iran, don't you? the ones who want israel wiped off the map.

3. ...Half a world away,
Half a world away, citizens of the United States, whose homes, families and businesses were destroyed or damaged by floods proximally caused by the negligent actions of the Army Corps of Engineers, are still waiting for the first distribution of billions of dollars from the US government to compensate them for their losses.

The money, administered through the Lousiana Recovery Authority's Road Home program, was supposed to start flowing just about a year after the disaster happened.

Like Chavez keeping your old people from freezing to death offering cheap heating oil in the winter and the Canadians offering cheap drugs north of the border so your elderly can take bus-slash-medication vacations because your pathetic medical system kills the poor.

Care to go on?

22. Hezbollah can afford to be generous
thanks to 70+ dollar per barrel oil, Iran can afford to support them (and nuclear research). Winnning hearts and minds. They had a tough time back in the late 90's when oil was 10 bucks. But all know that was Clinton's fault

Hezbollah showers pennies from heaven. Lebanon is bought and paid for.

lebanese people who had just about rebuilt their country and who put their trust in Hizbollah.

15. You know what children... Who gives a shit? The people who
were bombed need immediate help, not a bunch of bureaucracies to sit around an haggle the price over their heads. I know how it looks. But I think right now, getting people back on their feet is something good. What should they do? Let Halliburton come to the rescue? Let it be. Wish them well and send in peace workers. Teach education and the true ideals of democracy (not the Bush doctrine).

Please, truce it up... I/L are willing to stop.

18. ok, getting immediate help to those who need it is a bad thing, how?
guess they should just wait for a hand-out from the u.s., to fix their lives destroyed by u.s. bombs.

25. there are many things that my tax money goes for that i find
objectionable, i.e., the war in iraq, aid to arab countries, perks for members of congress. i could go on and on. what we give to israel is just a drop in the bucket. and israel is our only true friend in the mideast. other countries may say they are but, when push comes to shove they will stand with their arab brothers.
