ISRAEL DEPORTS INNOCENT IRISHMAN

Israel today deported a Northern Irish man it falsely accused of being a Real IRA bombmaker training Palestinian militants in the West Bank.

Officials said Sean O Muireagain, known in his native west Belfast as "John Boy Morgan", was put on a flight leaving Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport to arrive at London's Heathrow airport later tonight.

Mr O Muireagain was arrested, Israeli officials claim, because he matched the name and description of a Real IRA bombmaker on the run called John Morgan.

But after interrogating him they conceded he had no links to any militant organisations in Ireland or Palestine.

Israeli security agencies were said to be blaming a tip-off for the arrest given to them by the British secret service.
