Israel in revenge attack
ISRAELI jets pounded Lebanon yesterday in a revenge blitz that killed at least 55 people.

The air assaults were seen as payback after Hezbollah launched its deadliest day of rocket strikes on Sunday — killing 12 Israeli soldiers and three civilians.

The Lebanese toll yesterday included at least 15 people killed after nightfall in a missile attack on a southern Beirut suburb that had not been hit before.

It neighbours the Hezbollah stronghold of Haret Hreik, which was levelled by airstrikes in the past month.

1. As if all of Israel's attacks are "revenge"
and the Hezbolla attacks are "aggression".

That's nuts.

2. I thought "revenge" was more accurate than "self defense".
"Lashes out blindly" would work too.

4. Well the rules are the rules....
That's the headline. More's the pity for all who are dead and dying.

3. Payback for the last 2 days
That's why it was important to interrupt the cycle with Leb PM 'retracts'...Qana will be a faint memory as more dead bodies pile up while Israel decides which deal it likes and which one it doesn't.

I read somewhere that the US increased the level of violence in Baghdad?
