Beirut Christians terrified as strikes move closer
A visibly shaken Maroun Lahoud said he was leaving Beirut with his three children after Israel struck his Christian neighbourhood on Wednesday.

"The Israelis are firing at everybody, not just on Hizbollah. They are hitting buildings, trucks, an entire people," Lahoud said, standing in front of his building with his hands on his head.

The helicopter attack, which destroyed a lorry but caused no casualties, was the first in Ashrafiya, a residential area once controlled by pro-Israeli Christian Maronite militias during Lebanon's 1975-1990 civil war.

Ashrafiya is about two kilometres (one mile) north of the Shi'ite Muslim district of Haret Hreik, a Hizbollah stronghold which has been the main target of Israeli air strikes in Beirut.

(snip)
"This is not the southern suburb they are hitting now and it's nowhere near it," said 35-year old Shoukry Noujaim, referring to Hizbollah's stronghold.

2. Are American Fundies Going to Support Their Fellow Christians?
Of course not, that might interrupt their almost orgasmic glee over massive death and suffering in the "holy land."

Religious nationalism is the enemy of humanity.
