Lebanese PM demands ceasefire
Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora called on Saturday for an immediate ceasefire, saying Israeli attacks had turned Lebanon into a disaster area in need of international aid.

"We call for an immediate ceasefire backed by the United Nations," Siniora told a news conference in Beirut. "I declare today that Lebanon is a disaster zone in need of a comprehensive and speedy Arab plan ... and (it) pleads to its friends in the world to rush to its aid."

1. Why don't you
get those bastards firing the rockets and kidknapping people out of your country so this won't happen? This is what happens when you associate with crazy and dangerous people.

2. But it is THEIR country too. Why not get the Israelis out of all
Arab lands and stop them from kidnapping and bombing them? Remember, Israel has a state policy of assassinations of anyone it deems to be an enemy...even inside the US.

7. OK, well at least stop them from
undertaking acts of war on other countries. Disarming renegade militias who attack other countries and get you pounded with bombs should be job #1 in any country. Easier said than done of course, but get UN to help.

6. The first rule for getting out of a hole is to stop digging deeper.
I have a certain sympathy with Israel, but this is dumber than shit, and evil too.

11. It's incredibly dumb
it's jaw droppingly dumb. I don't get how they could be so stupid as to fall right into H'bollah's trap.

17. Hey, I live in the USA.
I don't want to get snotty about it, I haven't managed to stop the Bushites yet, but you gotta at least least call a spade a spade, or there is no hope at all.

19. but it might work...
Lebanese PM Saniora pledged earlier that his government, aided by UN would extend its control over southern Lebanon, as Israel demands

if the lebanese army takes control of the south.....thats one more additional non violent border for israel and the residents of s. lebanon get to live free again.....

4. Yes Israel, get out....
...so we can allow Hizbullah to stay in charge and fire more rockets at you later in the future when we're better equipped to destroy you.

Loser.

10. When the IRA were bombing Britan and N.Ireland they were
using the Republic of Ireland from which to plan and launch their terrorist attacks. Britain did not bomb suburbs in Dublin claiming they were trying to kill terrorists, they did not destroy bridges and power stations in Ireland and cause the deaths of dozens of innocent people with fighter jets in the republic of Ireland. they would have been condemned utterly and rightly (particularly by the IRA's many supporters in the US who supplied their guns and bombs to kill innocent Britons).

This situation is exactly the same. Israel should be condemned

8. this may be too obvious but...
if Lebanon returned the kidnapped soldiers
(or demanded or forced hebzollah to release them)
then Israel might just stop their offensive.

Ya think ???

lebanon has to take control of southern lebanon and remove the hizballa from shooting at israel (as its been doing for the last 6 years)...and take an example from Egpt and Jordan and Syria: control your border with israel

that should do it....pretty standard amongst nations all over the world...

13. What about Israel controlling its border, rather than
building towns in someone elses country and then guarding them with soldiers.

Pretty standard amongst nations all over the world.

12. Well yes, but you could reverse that and say if
Israel would just release the women and children it has captured over the years then that would be that.

Many of the Women and children are in jail for 'clashing' with IDF personell at checkpoints etc over issues around searching them and other such henious crimes. There are young teenage girls in Isralei jails today for those very things, non-compliance with IDF.

No links i'm afraid, but still quite true.
