"Residents of the West Bank settlement of Maon, located in the southern Hebron Hills, renewed their efforts on Saturday to prevent Palestinian children from traveling to and from school.

The settlers threw stones and eggs at an Israel Defense Forces jeep accompanying Palestinian children from school to their village of Hirbat Al-Tuwani. Despite the fact that a large police and military force was called to the scene, no arrests were made.

The settlers, along with residents of the nearby outpost of Havat Maon, are involved in an ongoing effort to prevent the passage of children to and from school through settlement property.

The IDF and police provide security jeeps to accompany and protect the children. However, the children's parents have been attacked on four separate occasions in the past week while trying to facilitate the travel.

On Saturday afternoon, IDF soldiers drove five children home for fear of their being attacked. Next to Maon's chicken coops, dozens of settler adults and youth ambushed the armored vehicle, surrounding it and pounding it with stones and eggs."

Troops foil attack: IDF soldiers detained Monday a terrorist planning to carry out a suicide bombing in Israel.

The would-be bomber was nabbed near the community of Adam, north of Jerusalem, without his explosive belt, which he was supposed to receive later on. Security officials later told Ynet: "A terror attack on Holocaust Day or the next day was prevented."

Meanwhile, the terrorist was handed over to security authorities for questioning. Throughout the day, many roadblocks were set up in the Binyamin area, around Jerusalem, and on Highway 443 connecting Jerusalem and Modi'in. Every motorist was screened by security officers, leading to heavy traffic jams.

However, the boosted deployment proved itself and the would-be bomber was nabbed.

The terrorist was captured inside a suspicious taxicab north of the capital. Sappers were called in and searched the vehicle but no explosives were found.

On the eve of Holocaust Day, police forces across the country are on high alert for fear terrorist groups are planning attacks. At this time, authorities are dealing with 76 terror warnings, including 20 concrete ones. Most warnings originate in the northern West Bank, with the Islamic Jihad behind most plots.

Meanwhile, IDF forces continue to operate in Nablus and the northern West Bank against terror cells planning attacks. The operations have continued since the Purim holiday. Police forces set up roadblocks at the entrances to cities and have boosted their deployment near the Green Line and around Jerusalem, with an emphasis on securing Holocaust Day ceremonies.

Its been in the israeli media how the settlers in southern hebron are running amok and the IDF was doing virtually nothing to stop them, in fact quite a few israelis were there protecting the palestenians...it seems times are slowly changing as the IDF is starting to protect the palestenain children....its about time!

there are several wars going on at once: israel vs the palestenains, israel vs its own extremists, palestenains vs palestenains.....its all very messy. However dont confuse the war with the palestenians as an excuse to let the extremist settlers run wild...and dont be mislead. Their version of israel is very much parallel to that of the palestenain hamas in outlook: a theocracy
