Israel considers W. Bank apartheid roads

Israel security sources revealed Wednesday that the Jewish state is considering permanently banning Palestinians from using major roads in the occupied West Bank, according to Reuters news agency.

Israel started earlier this week barring private Palestinian vehicles from West Bank highways. It also expanded a network of settler-only routes.

The IOF claims that the new measures are meant to protect Israelis from the Palestinians attacks in the territory, which has become a scene fierce battles between both sides following Gaza withdrawal. But the Palestinians view the new restrictions as part of the Israeli government’s agenda to tighten the grip on and seize control of more West Bank areas, after it withdrew some 8,500 Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip last month.

But the occupation forces are now considering permanently designating several roads for separate use by Israelis and Palestinians.
