The local news (KMTV Omaha) just said that the Xbox and the clothes
that were at the core of the murders of those six people were never really stolen. That one of the victims had tidied up for the clown that owned them and put them in a box.

If the story wasn't bad enough, that just made me sick.

1. Do you have a link to the story?
I don't know incident what you're referring to.

That one of the victims had tidied up for the clown that owned them and put them in a box.

Clowns are surely most evil, revolting, disgusting, nasty people on Earth.

Where some crackpot got some other crackpots to beat six people to death because he thought someone stole his xbox and some clothes.

3. Thanks
My last post was made in an insomniac state. I finally got to sleep and awoke at 6:00 AM to find my cable modem link down. Then my pager went off. It's been chaos all morning. What a Monday.

Well, at least nobody got shot. :dunce:

5. Getting shot in America is so common
...what makes you think no one's been shot. It's not like it'd be news or anything.

6. No one was shot in the event we're discussing
stabbed just beaten to death with aluminum baseball bats. Speaking of which, we should ban aluminum baseball bats.

"Getting shot in America is so common"

No it isn't.

7. What are the actual odds of...
...being killed by a gun in the US of A?
We got a population of 288 million and about 50,000 gun deaths a year. Is that about right? My math is shaky but if the population was 1,000,000 that would mean a 5% chance, but we have 288 times that many people so what's that number? A hundred million would make it a .005% chance, so about a third of that right? Help me!

8. A bit less than 30,000 gun deaths a year
more than half of those suicides.
