From Eva Simpson And Dave Gardner In Los Angeles
TV actor Neil Morrissey was arrested by US customs at the weekend for being "rude and drunk" after a red wine binge on a flight to Los Angeles.
The Men Behaving Badly star blew his top at finding himself in a long queue to complete airport formalities and let rip at officials.
Morrissey, 41, was released after an hour without charge and was apologetic last night.
"I was a bit exuberant in the line," he said, "and I did have something to declare - too much red wine."
Morrissey drank heavily in the Upper Class cabin on the 12-hour Virgin Atlantic trip from London on Saturday.
He was visiting LA to see his girlfriend of six months, American lawyer Emma Killick, 33.
A customs source said: "He was unhappy at having to queue for so long in the airport.

I'm assuming this because of the stats that 95% of Americans don't have a passport. It's not a nice experience. And when the agents search through all your bags and just throw your things back in or just leave them on the counter and you have to repack yourself. I've had a few really friendly cool agents who make it a semi-enjoyable experience but most are just too arrogant. With the long lines and some rude/arrogant agents, I predict that tourism to the US will drop. And this is the worst thing that could ever happen for income to American businesses. Tourism dollars the most productive America could ever hope for. 'Come on over, take a look, have a good time, leave us all your money, and have a nice flight home.'
I'm telling you, Bush's/Republican's arrogant policies are destroying the income potential for ALL Americans.
-----------
On a flight from Asia to Hawaii to SF, I met an American Airlines employee. At HNL he and I both got 'buzzed' for a full search. Right in front of a thousand other people standing/stream by in line, the 'Blackwater/Carlyle Security Screeners' (or whomever they are), rip out everything in all your carry-on. Everything comes off you body, except light clothing. (Bob had to take off his belt.) He was so pissed off. I heard him say, 'can't you see I'm an
AA employee?' (his badge hanging around his neck.)
I almost missed my flight. The door was closed but they reopened it.
Does anyone have any empathy? What if this stuff happened to you on your dream vacation to New Zealand. What would you tell your friends and would you ever go back?
