Thank goodness the perps had a weapon in the house!
The assholes that have terrorized my neighborhood got busted last night and into this morning. Having a weapon when you are committing this felony enhances the sentence. These asshats stole more than $6000.00 from us before last Christmas they took our peace of mind. Hope you pecker-heads enjoy Christmas dinner this year in jail.
Additionally, We got into some arguing shit about this the last couple of days. One person called me a moron. I did not respond in kind but Slackmaster stood up for me ,so thank-you.
I was surprised mid morning yesterday when I came in to check out my messages and found out I was banned from DU.
I was real unsure of what I had done as I have done a lot of asshole things before that did not produce that result. Regardless, EarlG messaged me that it was a big mistake and I was reinstated before sundown.
I would have felt terrible if every one thought I had taken French Leave after all these years.
I would have had a hole in my life.
All my recent posts are gone so thanks to everybody that gave us sound advice.

One more thing before link..... America Fuck Yeah!!!!!

1. K&R'd some people are beyond hope.
hopefully they'll sell or rent the home soon to someone that's worthwhile, and your neighborhood can return to normal.

3. Glad to hear it was finally handled . . . . . .by the police.

BTW -- I'm not for banning anyone on a political web site, short of someone making threats against posters or family (and a few other things). Glad you were reinstated and hope your neighborhood stays clean.

5. Me too Hoyt
The mutilated dead cat in my remote back yard was the worst thing and the reason I bought a weapon. I hope it can stay in its hidey-hole.
Officer W.... told me it was the first time they had done something like this and the neighborhood lined the streets clapping. He was feeling job satisfaction and was happy. It is the first time in many years I have seen such support for the police and this was all happening around midnight and later.
This has turned into a feel good story.

Yeah I don't like banning people either, I have only blocked 1 member since I have been here. I would rather hear the discourse. I have changed positions on things after some good arguments here.
Now if we could get the Lexington Police to arrest Mitchie and Rand we would be on a roll. They could be charged with , General Fucking Up.
Day off for me today. I stayed up most of the night and up early this morning.
This evil shit is killing Kentucky. If anybody has a heroin/pill problem or has a loved one with the addiction you/ they can get better. I will leave a link to the best rehab in the country and it is free. We have been donating to these people, worthy.

10. The Pill/Heroin problem is raging out of control here.
I think I spotted the latest angle this morning. On my way to work I had to take a quick side trip through an area of strip malls, doctors offices, and pharmacies. I saw a crudely painted sign on a store front advertising a doctor. It wasn't a "pain clinic" it was a "doctor's office" in general practice. He had people lined up in the parking lot at 8:00. The reason I noticed it at all was because I was following a beat up pickup truck with Kentucky plates with several people I recognized as drug abusers riding in the back. Yep, they pulled into the doctor's strip mall and were jumping out of the truck to get a place in line. I'd guess he was on pace to see at least fifty patients or so this morning.

Now that heroin is cheaper than pills it's even worse. Many addicts who are in denial won't go the heroin route. Once they embrace the monster living in their heads fully heroin is much easier to accept.

Most of the theft and street crime we see locally is driven by the drug addiction problem. They'll steal anything they can for more drugs. I long for the "good old days" when it was just hippies smoking pot. That sounds downright quaint these days.

12. We call it the pill pipeline to Florida
If that is where you live. Our heroin users get it mostly out of Cincinnati. The Northern KY courts have turned their profiled busts into a cash cow. Like you they can spot junkies easily going and coming from the Queen City.
There were Florida plates on several different cars all the time coming around too.
Pot is so far away from this evil soul sucking crap.

17. A bit east of you.
We get them from West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky seeking prescriptions that they then wander around aimlessly trying to fill. Most pharmacies won't touch an Oxycontin prescription with a ten foot pole. There are still a few places that will fill the prescription. Addicts share information on a couple of web sites about who's writing and who's filling the prescriptions. Since the doctor's office I saw this morning is right next door to a new pharmacy I'm pretty sure they're trying to pull a fast one and make some serious money before skipping town. Fifty "patients" a day at $100 a visit, cash only, for a prescription really adds up after a while.

One of our little towns was even featured on Al Jazeera. It was a quite accurate account of the problem in a superficial kind of way. It's so bad here that by many accounts seven in ten job applicants for some very good positions locally can't pass the drug screening. In an area with major unemployment they can't find enough local labor because they're mostly addicted. It's truly turning into the haves and the have nots. The only twist is its "have addiction" or "have no addiction".

We get our heroin from Detroit mostly. They also have some source for pills there and it's not uncommon for street dealers to show up with Oxycontin in large amounts. Since the area is "open", meaning the gangs don't claim turf it's pretty much a gold rush right now. It got so bad Greyhound refuses to stop here because the mules were buying cheap tickets from Detroit and wearing out their welcome on the bus. The local police aren't really up to the task of dealing with it all and have more or less thrown up their hands in disgust and are asking for more money.

The addicts did try the home invasion game earlier this year. The result was several dead or crippled addicts. I think they have decided that business model just isn't working so well. You see a lot of young women stepping up to "care for" elderly men with chronic or terminal illnesses now. They rob the people blind, steal their medicines, and then leave them for dead after a few months. Many of these girls are from families with no previous criminal history. Don't even get me started on the local Emergency Room and the "take home packs" of Lortab.

19.  Here the problem is Meth labs.
They build em inside of deer stands, old houses, abandoned vehicles, anywhere there is a large enough area sheltered from the weather.

24. Heroin
Seems to be attracting a younger and more "upscale" crowd, and snorting or smoking rather than injecting it. Here it comes up I-65 from Nashville. Meth, and pain pills seem to be the redneck, biker, skinhead crowd. Crack seem to be old hat with just a few who still use it.

It's the time of year we'll be working on State Police helicopters filled with marijuana. Last year they busted a flock of illegals in a campsite behind the weigh station on I-65 with a couple thousand plants.

Mandatory drug testing keeps a lot of folks out of the aviation industry. So far, I have not met even a stoner who was eager to get on airplanes flown and maintained by dopers.

25. I am from Taylor Co, my Stateside home County
Which is 60 miles from the gate by the old Cav Store at Ft Knox. If you google Cornbread Mafia you see the guys I grew up with. Probably half the farm equipment and improvements in the area were paid for by pot growing until the Feds started flying Hueys all over Kentucky. Sometimes you would think you were right in the 3rd world. When I got back from the Rock in '77 you could smell the weed in the air this time of year. Should just legalize and go after the bad stuff.
I wonder what the real skinny is on the men coming back from Afghanistan, heroin and hashish everywhere there.

30. Individual? Playing judge, jury, jesus and executioner -- don' think that's a good idea.

Heck, more than a few of the individuals/gunners here are more concerned about the best gun to use against people fleeing a disaster such as Irene.

No, I don' think vigilantism is desirable, and your support of such is a good reason to look closely at gun, and gun use, laws.

6. Sometimes there were 10 adults in this house
Never could keep up with the # of kids. The real sad thing is that this was a family business with 2 generations working it and the kids were learning the family trade. I hope they get to a better place and have a real childhood but it could be too late.
Not crack, heroin and pills, they started out in crack but changed their business model.

7. Glad your situation has improved.
Perhaps some who accused you of over reacting and paranoia will be chastised by "film at eleven."

Hopefully the drug dealers are gone from your neighborhood, and their customers along with them!

It was heart warming to see the neighborhood come together.
The police were happy too. The sad thing is the kids these people have started on a shit road to poverty, addiction, and future prison.
I thank-you for your support, when things were really bad and I posted here some of the comments were unnecessary so thanks for 'looking out'. Richard

Protocols/SOPS have changed because of a weapon. When I was remodeling a few years back I built in some special places here and there for storage of valuables. I will treat the change with the thought and respect it deserves.
I do understand the other sides arguments and Lord knows that battle is constantly happening here. One reason I asked for info here is that this is a very knowledgeable group.
