NORTH CAROLINA:: Governor Signs NRA-Backed Omnibus Gun Bill into Law
http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=6949
Yesterday, Governor Bev Perdue signed House Bill 650 into law. H 650 will make several positive reforms to North Carolina’s gun laws.

Introduced by pro-gun state Representative Mark Hilton (R-96), H 650 contains Castle Doctrine language, Fraudulent Firearms Purchase language, allows Right-to-Carry (RTC) permit holders to store firearms in their vehicles when parked on the grounds of certain state properties and courthouses, removes the restriction on owning (but not possessing) firearms by those subject to certain orders of protection, allows for the purchase of rifles and shotguns by North Carolina residents in all of the 49 other states, removes some restrictions on local governments prohibiting RTC permit holders from carrying firearms in parks under local control, as well as other improvements. The reforms in H 650 will take effect on December 1, 2011.

RALEIGH — North Carolina residents, motorists and workers will have more legal protection when they fire a weapon at an intruder.

SNIP

The new law gives citizens more legal standing to protect themselves against unlawful entry into their homes, workplaces and vehicles. It goes into effect Dec. 1.

The measure also would allow holders of concealed weapons permits to carry a pistol in a state park and prevents local governments from passing bans in the parks, with some exceptions.

It also makes clear legislators can store guns in their cars while parked at the Legislative Building if they are stored in a locked container

RKBA freedoms are on a roll. That is three bills signed by governors in less than a week. We ARE the backlash. The Democratic Party needs to adopt a pro-RKBA stance or it will continue to suffer at the polls.

7. Solid collection of stories, since guns were not used to commence the crime in most of them.

6. Castle doctrine is bad news for criminals ...
Disarming honest citizens as you suggest would be great news for criminals.

Nothing ruins a criminals day faster than running into an armed home owner or when his victim has a concealed carry permit and pulls a firearm.

14. But circa 80 million American citizens choose to own them, almost all lawfully and responsibly.
We'll keep them, thanks.

And as you probably already know, possession of guns by "outlaws" has been illegal for many decades, under both Federal law and the laws of most states.
