Last week, during the House Oversight Committee Hearings re: "Operation Gunrunner/Fast & Furious", and in response to a direct admonition from Committee Chairman Hon. Darell Issa, Asst. Attorney General Ronald Weich made the unequivocal statement that DOJ (and it's subordinate agency, ATF) "would not retaliate against Whilsteblowers". Those of us who know anything about DOJ's and ATF's appalling record in this regard, laughed out loud. Now, with ATF's proposed termination of veteran undercover Agent and trailblazing Whistleblower Vincent A. Cefalu, we have direct confirmation that Weich was lying through his teeth.
