San Francisco city worker shot in road rage attack
http://www.sacbee.com/2011/06/17/3709409/san-francisco-city-worker-shot.html

SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco police are looking for a suspect who shot and wounded a city employee in a road rage incident.

Police say the driver of a Department of Parking and Traffic painting truck was shot in the shoulder after making a U-turn on a street in the city's Bayview District around 8:35 a.m. Friday.

Investigators say just before he started shooting, the gunman had stepped out of his car and started cursing at the driver. He fired multiple times, hitting the city worker once.

The worker was treated at a hospital and released.

16. Recommended?
Do you advocate shooting municipal employees because they are government workers?

That is sick.

... or somebody.

Had a morality check-up lately?

Maybe look up "good faith".

Then look deep within yourself and see whether you can find any.

If you find even a shred, try applying it before typing.

You may be surprised to find that it doesn't get used up or worn out.

In fact, the more you use it, the easier it may be to find some next time.

3. It's getting bad
I hate speaking ill of the City, but there are growing incidents of road rage among drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians. I know of cases of:

-Angry pedestrians kicking cars.
-Drivers running down cyclists
-Cyclists throwing their bikes at cars.

A couple weeks ago, my son and I were crossing North on Sutter when a black Mercedes turned without looking and nearly hit us (Sutter is a one-way street so drivers often make fast turns). got annoyed and said "we have the light, asshole". And finish crossing. The driver talks to me the entire time, not looking at the street and nearly hit a parked car. I was so hoping he would at least lose a headlight.

5. I thought guns were hard to get in California and it was very hard to get a carry permit?
The shooter must have been from out of town...

10. are guns hard to get in California?
I would doubt that. Where does your information come from?

The shooter must have been from out of town?

Or maybe their gun was ...

6. If he is ever caught it will be discovered that he has a criminal record.
Anybody with that kind of violent temper has almost certainly already gotten into trouble with the law. But based on a criminal jpak wants to restrict legal gun ownership.

7. Future gun control should focus on criminals and those who suffer from severe mental issues ...
the normal honest citizen is not a serious problem and those who are licensed to carry a concealed firearm are even less of a problem.

11. ah, "almost" certainly
Lucky you qualified that one, eh?

Otherwise, what with you saying that it WILL be discovered that he has a criminal record, it would have sounded like you were saying that nobody in legal possession of a firearm has EVER done anything like that ..... or maybe just that you are finally the one with a working-order crystal ball .....

12. The point being normal mellow people don't just snap. It is not so
much crystal ball as it is being the law of probability. Chances are he has been arrested and or convicted of assault at least once.

20. Actually he's right, he was a criminal before he shot the city worker
The shooter was not in legal possession of a firearm. In California, when transporting a firearm in a vehicle, it must be unloaded and in a locked container. The shooter obviously did not abide by these laws, and thus was already a law-breaker before ever firing a shot.

15. Yup...
....and well within the top 20 as far as gun crime is concerned. Just proof that the Brady group is full of crap and that their so-called "reasonable" and "common sense" laws have no direct and positive effect on gun crime.

18. I will absolutely wager my pay check
That the dude who did the shooting was not a San Fransisco County CCW permit holder.

Unless it was Sean Penn who did the shooting. But how could he? He lost both of the guns on his permit.
