Moran Mike Huckabee to be keynote speaker at NRA gathering

Former moran Republican presidential candidate and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will headline one of several events when the National Rifle Association meets in Pittsburgh April 29 to May 1.

Huckabee will speak at the Consol Energy Center April 30 as part of the "Celebration of American Values Freedom Event" that is part of the NRA's 140th annual meeting.

The group expects 72,000 people to attend the event.

Other moran Republican speakers are expected to announce appearances as the event nears.

And please show me a poll or forum where progressives support Mike Huckabee. I would assume most progressives do not align with Huckabee.

The fact that saying Huckabee is not on our side (meaning the DU side) and getting an argument only from the Gun forum says quite a bit about this forum.

The NRA doesn't care about any of his other stances on issues. They are a single issue organization - the 2nd amendment.

On election day they also do not care if he has a D or an R behind his name on the ballot.

As for unions, the NRA has around 4.6 million members, a lot of them are union guys, I shoot with some of them regularly. I guess they can't be real Dems either, huh? I better break the news to my Pink Pistol student shooter groups from the last year or two as well and let all of them know they can't be Dems either, because you said so.

I'll let you tell Skinner, since he allows a forum for gun owning Dems here, that he's probably not a real Dem either huh?

How many Dems are speaking?

Not nearly enough. Would that every Democratic candidate and politician supported the right to keep and bear arms, and so co-opt the second amendment issue away from the Republicans. It would totally destroy a wedge issue that the Republicans use against Democrats, and it would make the NRA a huge powerful lobbying force for Democrats.

Yes, it absolutely sucks that the NRA has more Republican allies than Democratic ones. I work to change this by voting for Democratic candidates who support the right to keep and bear arms.
