Gun crime sparks body vest rethink
A surge in gun attacks on police could see every officer in London wearing body armour within weeks, it was revealed yesterday.

Typical press, let the bad guys know they have to make head shots.

1. Go peddle that pantload to a river!
There is no gun crime in the UK, THEY BANNED GUN OWNERSHIP!

Now everyone lives in a crime free utopia where people hop and skip to work singing songs sucking on lollipops with rainbows everywhere...and all it took was more gun control!

2. Yes, dems...
<sarcasm>without a news story, the "bad guys" will never notice body armor...I'm sure at the "bad guy" clubhouse "bad guys" are clipping out the story and pasting it in their scrapbooks.</sarcasm>

Thus cops in London will be equipped the way cops in pretty much every American city have been equipped for years...except that London cops will be at a much lower risk of getting shot by gun onwers "defending themselves".

4. HAHAHHA
wonderfully worded as always Benchley. I was about to go the same direction in my response to the "bad guy" thing till I read yours. You nailed it.

Except for the whole
"Thus cops in London will be equipped the way cops in pretty much every American city have been equipped for years."

Well, except for the fact that the British police have Kevlar, flashlight and baton whereas U.S. police have Kevlar, flashlight and Glock 9. It's admirable of the British police to get shot up and then ask simply for armor. They might want to ad some Baton-Throwing training in there as well, wouldn't you agree?

8. You use the term "blood bath" but that doesn't change the fact that...

5. Yeah, ri-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ight
without a news story, the "bad guys" will never notice body armor

It's called mindset. Enough reminders to the crooks will make head shots more common. In the heat of the moment during a confrontation, it's less likely that anyone will notice what anyone else is wearing. Notifying the world via the media that body armor is being used reinforces the idea in the minds of all concerned - especially criminals.

The mindset to take a headshot can be developed and reinforced by these stories. I am reminded of a psych study several years ago wherein college basketball players were divided into 2 groups. One group practiced free throws while the other group pondered and visualized shooting free throws. At the end of the study, the visualization group shot free throws as well as the group that practiced. They developed the mindset. These news story reminders can serve the same purpose to the detriment of cops worldwide.

7. Not in the gungeon
According to the RKBA crowd, terrified subjects of the Crown are barricaded in their homes like the family in "The Birds," vainly phoning the tyrannical Parliament begging for more guns!

Believe that? Me neither.
