4. There was a whole thread devoted to that
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=118&topic_id=28618

And of course, he's been pilloried in the past for being anti-gun....

"Nevada Representative John Ensign was well positioned to defeat incumbent Harry Reid for the U.S. Senate. Reid had accepted money from Handgun Control, Inc., which he earned with his consistent anti-gun voting record. "

http://www.gunowners.org/election98.htm

And of course the sudden endorsement had nothing to do with needing the Democratic whip on their side back when the Nuts Ruining America were making noise about buying a TV channel...funny, that plan seems to evaporated since news about their finaneial state became public.

6. A state legislator
Who was the guy who used to post here claiming to be a minor Ohio state Democratic official?

Funny how he went away after some folks noted that his home page didn't say a word about him being a Democrat, linked to the Republicans ahead of the Democrats and listed the National Review as a "non-partisan" source.

5. Zell Miller....
He once even gave the keynote address at the NRA's klavern...and he just wrote a book telling the nation how much he hates his fellow Democrats.

Further to the right than some Republicans...anti-environment, anti-abortion, itching for an anti-flag burning amendment...so of course he's pro-gun all the way...

Edited on Fri Jan-30-04 04:15 PM by MrBenchley
the allegation now seems to be that every Democrat who supports gun rights has their head on straight except Zell Miller...a sweeping claim that seems to encompass about half a dozen state legislators scattered hither and yon....

Some people seem to think just about every Democrat on the national level (even including old Zell) and almost all of those on the state levels are wrong about where the party ought to go, and we ought to be following popgun-totin' Eric from Moose Jaw....eeeeeehhhh, I don't think so.

29. You're narrowly twisting my statement.
Allow me to expand and clarify.

My statement: It will only lead to the slander by some of the anti's of Democrats with their heads on straight.

Your statement: I Seriously Question Anybody.....
...who thinks Zell Miller has his head on straight.

There is no implication in my statement that I am either including or excluding Zell Miller. You asserted that I was referring to him. I was not.

For the record: On most issues, I disagree with Mr. Miller. I happen to agree with most of his RKBA positions. In fact, I believe he's far out of the Dem loop on many issues. Gun control should not be one of those. It is a fundamental right.

Perhaps I should have been more specific in my post. Having stated that, please, in the future, refrain from assuming that I may make reference to a specific person unless I name him/her.

10. Maryland (off the top of head)
State Senators:
Philip Jimeno,
Katherine Klausmeier,
Norman Stone

- All co-sponsored this year's fair-issue CCW bill, that is presently languishing in committee.

Delegate George Owings -cosponsored bills to repeal the bogus ballistic snapshot law, and the integrated handgun lock law.

There may be others, but I'm new to the MD political scene.

15. Eric Croft, D-Anchorage
http://www.adn.com/alaska/story/3280484p-3310005c.html

<snip>

Rep. Eric Croft, D-Anchorage, said he sponsored the bill out of frustration with continually fine-tuning the state's gun laws.

"I object to the government putting a precondition on that constitutional right (to carry a weapon). I'm presumed to be a responsible citizen until proven otherwise," Croft said.

<snip>

Sen. Con Bunde, R-Anchorage, was among 10 lawmakers voting against the bill. Bunde said current Alaska law requires someone to understand their legal obligations and demonstrate proficiency before receiving a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

27. If you believe Robert Serivce...
up there this time of year they're happy to see ANYONE (snicker)...

"Then I ducked my head and the lights went out, and two guns blazed in the dark;
And a woman screamed, and the lights went up, and two men lay stiff and stark.
Pitched on his head, and pumped full of lead, was Dangerous Dan McGrew,
While the man from the creeks lay clutched to the breast of the lady that's known as Lou.

These are the simple facts of the case, and I guess I ought to know.
They say that the stranger was crazed with "hooch," and I'm not denying it's so.
I'm not so wise as the lawyer guys, but strictly between us two--
The woman that kissed him and--pinched his poke--was the lady known as Lou."

28. Diane Fienstein
She had a very rare concealed carry permit in San Fransisco. She carried a handgun. That would make her a pro gun politician, would it not?

The answer is simple. There are none. Forget Mark Warner. And dont mention Dean. Kerry is not really for sportsmen. They are all lunatic left-wing gun grabbing zealots. They all believe that anyone who ones a gun also owns Nazi memorabilia and attend Klan meeting weekly.

So i will break it down like this:

How many are there? 0

What states are they in? None

What do they have to say about the second amendment? They say the "people" is a collective term meaning the National Guard.

What do they have to say about gun rights? They say if you want to own a gun join the military or national guard. (whats that movie where they fight the bugs and the only citizens are the ones that join the military? Thats their opinion of what a citizen is.)

Their stance on CCW? Only themselves or their politically connected friends and their bodyguards are in need of a concealed weapon for self defense.

The AW ban? They all think it was just a stepping stone for their ultimate goal. Disarming all citizens of all guns.

Self Defense? If you cant afford a bodyguard, you life wasnt really worth defending.

Casorio is a local rep who got a stamp of approval from the NRA.

In areas where the gun issue is important and so are other issues like...jobs, healthcare...etc pro-gun Democrats are elected.
