Man, 63, Arrested For Having Large Cache Of Guns
MAR VISTA (CBS) ― Officials arrested a 63-year-old Mar Vista man Thursday after finding a huge cache of weaponry, including 20 machine guns, in his home.

Brian David Cochran was taken into custody around 10 a.m.

According to authorities, the arrest came nearly five hours after police arrived to serve a search warrant at his home in the 12700 block of Woodgreen Street.

Officer April Harding of the Los Angeles Police Department said several explosives were also discovered.

1. So he wasn't arrested for "a large cache of guns," but for possession of stuff
Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 01:06 PM by benEzra
that is as tightly controlled under current law as explosives, tanks, howitzers, and poison gas. That's a 10-year Federal felony per violation.

You are aware that machineguns have been super-tightly controlled since 1934 and new ones were completely banned in 1986, yes?

5. I find it strange he got only $45000 bond for 20 machine guns.
That sounds awfully...inconsistent.

7. It isn't an inaccuracy
Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 03:47 PM by Katya Mullethov
If it is repeated long enough , then it becomes common knowledge . Like ," Bush made machines gun legal " , " I had to lay it down " , and " bats will get tangled in your hair " .
