Chainsaws.
I was going to post some pics from chainsaw accidents just for shock value. But the pics were just so horrific(seriously) that I thought better of it.

In my area tree worker are very often very bad people. Often former prisoners. I have lots of stories. Mostly it comes down to them being able to swindle people out of money. There is also transporting drugs. And poaching deer and selling it to muslims as goat meat.

So, I was down at the auto parts store talking to a friend about guns and cars and stuff. He said " People ask me why I carry a gun. I tell them because there has been an actual chainsaw fight right here in this parking lot." Holy shit! He was serious. I think the cops got there before anybody got hurt.
Then I talked to another friend who is a bus driver. Her son was at a party that had a small house full of teenagers. The tree workers from a couple houses down rolled up in their tree worker truck, they were all half drunk or whatever. They started making a big scene about how they were offended they hadn't been invited to the party. And they pulled out their chainsaws and fired them up and threatened the teens with them. Christ. I'd start to think I was asleep and trapped in some kind of nightmare. The drunks didn't hurt anybody. They just terrorized the teenagers for awhile then left. I don't know how it finally turned out, I'm sure the cops were called.
If I found out somebody had threatened my child with a chainsaw I would have some very difficult decisions to make.

I'm thinking background checks to posses a chainsaw.

And I'm a RKBA absolutist.

4. While it may be sarcasm (of whatever strength)...
if you've ever lived in an area where a high percentage of people heat and cook with wood stoves, you'll know there is a strong element of truth in it.

While the vast majority of chainsaw injuries are accidental or self-inflicted via negligence, weird things do happen. In a nasty divorce, a 9 hp Stihl with a 44" bar can apparently cut a Buick in half. Sometimes with a person inside (there were no injuries).

The point is, anything can be a weapon. There is no inherent virtue or evil in the weapon, only in the intent of the user. Neither guns or chainsaws are "bad" or "good", there is only the intent and end result of their use by the person with the guiding hands{/i].

8. Please define RKBA absolutist
I consider myself an RKBA absolutist.

My definition? Repeal all Federal and state gun control laws with no exceptions.

Let the flames begin.

BTW. This is not a drive-by. I will likely not be answering or following the thread because I will be traveling to and in a remote area without internet access for a while. I'm leaving later today and have packing to do. There is game to scout.

3. I think we just should ban chainsaws. You can chop down that tree with an ax like
old George Washington did if you want the tree down.
