Have patience with them, Gungeoneers.
"If we flood the forum, it will surely be the first step in reversing the political trend against gun control,
for our strength is as the strength of ten, for our hearts are pure."

4. Ha Ha. Finger out of the trigger guard until sites are on target.
One must observe proper gun handling at all times. I've also found I do this with drills too. Guess it's a good habit to get into.

5. I'm sure some of them don't even recognize that they are exploiting tragedy
They really, really, don't recognize the essentially religious nature of their dislike of guns.

"Guns are bad, and if we attempt to restrict them, society will become more equal, the disturbed will be made sane,
and the Republicans won't use it as a wedge issue...again."

6. I actually read one that said to get ready for the GOP/NRA fund raiser over this?!
This was on a thread that was based on the BRADY BUNCHES exploitation email that went out. Really sickening.

7. It's more of a counter-flood.
I don't really care about guns. It's not one of my big issues. Labor, gay rights, civil rights, the environment, the continuing media shift toward less factual matter, these things matter to me.

Yet every day, every single day, when I check the "Latest" threads here, I'm exposed to a flood of pro-gun headlines, from trolls whose lives are so meaningless that they scour the news for tragedies to exploit, imaginary rights violations to whine about, or half-baked feel-good stories to tack on. I just don't care about the "Baby saved from diarrhea attack by gun-wielding dad," or whatever inane schlock the pro-gun trolls are flooding the site with today.

So congrats, you witless, devoted, pro-gun trolls, now you've got a witless, devoted, anti-gun troll flooding the site with the same nonsense you guys peddle day in, day out, every single day, diluting the value of this site for everyone who isn't a total lunatic. Reap what you sow.

8. We already tried sitting back and hoping legislators wouldn't pass new bans.
Edited on Sat Nov-07-09 09:07 PM by benEzra
My then-Dem father said in 1994 of the Feinstein ban, "That won't pass. This is America."

Well, we know how that turned out. Never again.

We have learned, that it is far better to be PUSHING your agenda, rather than playing defense. An weakend enamy who is off balance defending against YOUR attacks, cannot mount a serious challenge.

Even with the microscope on VA's gun laws, and the anti's out-of-state reenforcments, we are still winning, in every election cycle. And all they can do now is have "lie ins" and hand wring in the Roanoke Times.

When it comes time to go to the State House, for lobby day, they muster about 2 dozen, we muster several HUNDRED.... The legislatiors take notice of US.

We have had momentum on this issue for 15 years, it is not about to stop now, because gun control appeared on radar to some woefully uninformed folks, experience has proven time and time again, in six months, 99% of the new anti gunners, will give up, and place the issue on the back burner.

Leaving us, who was here long before, still SUCCESSFULLY pursuing our pro civil rights agenda.

With the exception of Republican's like Sara Brady, Paul Hemike, and Bloomberg, They have zero staying power, while our movement continues to expand, and grow stronger.

We must continue our march, we are slowly winning.

expect fresh howls soon, as Virginia gets rid of the "Restaurant ban" and other assorted gun control... Only ONE anti gunner won, and he won against ANOTHER anti gunner.

We had a 98% success rate for gun rights in Virginia during this last election.

We now have veto proof margins, and a pro gun Govner.....

SCREW YOU BLOOMBERG!!!!!

14. Hear, hear! Democrats need to keep concentrated on the basics...
...you know: Health care, The economy, The environment, Relations with the rest of the world.

Brady, Helmke, and Bloomberg have McGovernized Democrats for too long...

10. No problem. He/She will get tired.
BTW - We don't have to scour the internet for self-defense news. There are several web sites that do that. All we have to do is drop in an scoop up the day's defense stories.

I limit my posts on those to ones that have a specific point. I tend toward stories of older people who defend themselves. I do that because a certain poster tried to claim that if a senior tried to use a gun against a criminal then the criminal would take it away from the senior. I do that because I am a senior myself.

11. I don't mind the factual accounts of people getting shot. They should be posted...
...if accurate, even if it reflects badly on gun owners. People need to be reminded that things they own might cause harm, be they guns, cars, knives, or a bottle of acetaminophen or pesticide left where kids can get them. Freedom comes at a price, and it's proper to acknowledge that.

What I do object to is willful ignorance, deliberate misrepresentation of fact, and demonization of others.

For example:

16. It's a lot of fun watching the tactics used to deflect issues related to gun control
I always ask myself why the monitors allow the dungeon to remain an occupied territory?
