Sheriff: Ostrander Man Shot Wife during argument

OSTRANDER, Ohio— A 40-year-old Ostrander man is in custody after, officials said, he shot and killed his wife. The shooting occurred at 8960 Mills Road at about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, deputies found 43-year-old Mary Fry dead at the scene. Her husband, Daniel L. Fry, was taken into custody. A quote from Sheriff Walter L. Davis, III was issued, “Daniel Fry and his wife got into a verbal disagreement this morning. It ended with Mr. Fry picking up his handgun and shooting Mrs. Fry.”

5. Almost always, in a domestic murder, there is a history of domestic violence.
In the comments section of an online news source http://www.topix.net/forum/source/wbns/TJC0V38CQ32JIQVFB I found this:

"Sort of knew something bad would happen!!!
Very odd situation, wish someone in family
could have interveined! Very sad for all!!"

That appears to be someone who knew the family and knew that there was already very serious trouble there.

Another person who knew them comments:

"ive known dan & mary sometime . this saddens me its tragic. someone in family should have stepped in before it came to this. mary will be sadly missed . prayers for dan your gonna need them now"

Another person who knew both:
This goes to remind us all that we don't always know what someone else is going through behind closed doors.

Another who knew them:
"they had problems yes and it sadly went to far."

The above strongly suggests that there was a history of trouble, and that this was not a case of a normal good guy who was overpowered by the gun's magic spell.
