Armed robber shot by Barstow homeowner during break-in
A Los Angeles man who was trying to rob a Barstow home Friday night with two others was shot and killed by the homeowner, police said.

A man who lives in the Teton Street house was attacked by three home invasion robbers about 10 p.m. as they attempted to break into his house, police said. The homeowner, who was armed, was able to shoot one of the robbers when they tried to escape.

1. Do I detect a pattern in the many related posts you have put up this afternoon?
I frankly think the issue of guns is a local issue; what works in Montana may not work in DC. But whatever.

I hope you are not a single issue voter; guns are just one issue in society. Not the only one, despite those who can't see past it to other issues (single issue voters don't do it for me, obviously).

2. They are all defensive firearm posts. I post them regularly, there was just a lot of them in...
the last few days. I have no problem with local laws as long as they pass Constitutional muster.

6. It constantly astounds me...
...that people can feel that Constitutionally guaranteed Civil Rights should be subject to annulment based on geography or population density.

"I frankly think the issue of guns is a local issue; what works in Montana may not work in DC. But whatever."

I do not understand how one can be eligible to keep and bear arms, in this instance for the purpose of self defense, in Montana, but not in a city rife with crime. Can anyone parse this logic chain for me?

Perhaps we should also restrict the right to vote in cities, as many electorates keep electing career criminals to positions of power. D.C., New York, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, any bells ringing here? Perhaps the right to "free speech" should be removed anywhere it might make people uncomfortable, say... oh, any public area, state-run universities, near a political campaign... oh, wait a minute.

Frankly, I would like to be able to responsibly exercise ALL my Civil Rights in any Public venue. Restricting such is a totalitarian action not worthy of this nation.

Sorry for the thread high-jack, now back to the regularly scheduled rambling...

4. Strange that a fire department medic never hears of any innocent people getting shot.

5. I have yet to treat a patient who was shot with a legally possessed firearm.
