NY Senator “Gillibrand to face another test on gun control”
Gillibrand to face another test on gun control
WASHINGTON - Since her appointment to the Senate, one-time NRA favorite Kirsten Gillibrand has passed just about every test on guns set by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy - but that might change next week.

As the junior senator from New York, the upstate Democrat has undergone a transformation, moving quickly in the past three months away from her House record that won the NRA's top rating while remaining a supporter of Second Amendment rights to gun ownership.

"The senator is focused on working with anti-crime advocates, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, the Brady Campaign and Commissioner Ray Kelly and others on anti-trafficking legislation to stop the flow of illegal guns," he said.

McCarthy, the seventh term Mineola Democrat whose signature issue is gun control, Wednesday acknowledged the shift by Gillibrand to win approval from gun-control groups.

The anti-RKBA team wants Gillibrand to join Schumer (NY), Kennedy/Kerry (MA) and Feinstein/Boxer (CA) to destroy one of our pre-existing rights that government is obligated to protect as enumerated in the First, Second, and Fourth Amendments.

The six votes by senators from NY-MA-CA on the anti-RKBA side will be nullified with six votes from WY, MT, and SD senators for the pro-RKBA side.

Gillibrand was elected with pro-RKBA support. It’s a sign of respect to dance with whomever brought you to the dance.

3. TinFoilHat thought, corporatists want congress to be divided Dem v. Rep but not so that we Dems have
absolute control of law-making and budgets because we might just take control of government and manage our country for We the People.

A congress divided between slightly strong versus slightly weak political parties can be controlled by corporatists who finance candidates from both major parties and presidents can proudly sign bills flanked by party leaders showing bipartisan support when those bills move us toward a corporate state.

Experience shows that RKBA is one of a few divisive, polarizing issues that can keep voters distracted like hungry dogs fighting over a single bone while corporatists rob and pillage our nation under laws passed by the representatives of We the People that corporatists own.

I do hope I'm wrong.

4. She was an oasis in the anti-gun desert of New York.
Its too bad to see her apparently compromising her values just for political expediency...

She has been under a lot of pressure from gun control groups, but she's still very popular in her district. She could easily stick to her guns and still take on McCarthy and win in the 2010 primaries. Don't cave in, Kirsten!
